Notes on accommodation
Ideal for children, free cot & high chair, toys, sandpit, books - great selection of satellite tv channels aimed at the little ones. Uncrowded swimming/paddling pools just six paces from the patio. Safe garden with lockable gate. Shaded verandah for the midday sun and afternoon naps - speaking as the mum of four I think this is a real bonus. Somewhere for them to play if it is just too hot. Endless fun locally for children of all ages!! Children's playgrounds in Caleta, swings, slides, 'bungy-trampolines', crazy golf, ten pin bowling, etc. Huge beaches are perfect for children. Beach is fabulous for endless hours of sand castle fun. Water park in Corralejo which all the kids love. Children really welcomed in restaurants and little portions. English-speaking representative on hand to answer any questions. Oil filled radiators for heating if winter evenings chilly. Property is wonderfully pleasant temperature both winter and summer. Freestanding fan and ceiling fans.
Accessibility
Casa Felicidad is all on one level so ideal for anyone with some mobility problems. We have taken Terry's mum who uses a wheelchair (she had a fabulous time) which was not a problem. However, we don't have a hoist for bath etc., so some mobility is necessary. Very quiet at night so great for wonderful undisturbed slumber and relaxing days. Caleta is also easy terrain for pushing wheelchairs anywhere, even to the beach where there are disabled W.C.s. Also accessible beautiful ocean-side walk!
Outside
Picture yourself relaxing in your gorgeous, bubbling hot tub just for your exclusive use on your own sunny patio. Soak your cares away whilst enjoying the stunning views of sunset over the desert mountains - heaven! Fragrant sun filled patios and gardens to front and rear filled with vibrant bougainvillea and hibiscus. Barbecue. large covered verandah with comfy furniture. Table, chairs, sun loungers. Parasol. Uncrowded huge swimming pool at least 75 ft x 30 ft (and a large shallow pool for the children as well) with coconut parasols and loungers set in large landscaped sunbathing terraces. Pool in sun all day long, gorgeous spot, incredibly relaxing and peaceful - virtually had the pool to ourselves commented one of our guests - just half a dozen paces from the front gate. Our photos can't really do it justice but it is a super spot to just kick back and let your cares drift away!
Coast/Beach
Many quiet beaches with loungers/umbrellas for reasonably priced hire - or just stretch out on the warm sand on your towel as I do taking the beach umbrella from Casa Felicidad!!! Calm lagoons for lazily floating/swimming. Huge sandy crescent beach is fantastic for small children as the bay is very shallow and calm. Ideal novice swimmers, windsurfing, divers. Atlantico Shopping Centre 5 mins by car -well-stocked EuroSpar for groceries, fab shoes, cinema, pizza, ice cream, fiestas and fun.
Golf
Casa Felicidad garden borders excellent, enjoyable, challenging, 18 hole championship golf course (home to the Spanish Open in 2004). 5 minutes stroll to 5 Star Elba Palace Hotel where clubhouse located. Clubs and buggies for hire. Driving range. Reasonable green fees - much cheaper than comparable courses in Tenerife. This lovely golf course is a good test for both low and high handicap players, particularly in the breeze. The second and third holes have narrow fairways and a ditch that acts like a magnet! There is plenty of water to attract your ball but also the chance to open your shoulders on several tees. Par 3s can all be tricky, either because you play into the wind, or because of the cunningly placed water, or both! You are welcome to borrow the set of golf clubs we have left at the apartment especially for guests to use. You can also hire sets of clubs at the golf course for a reasonable sum.
Travel
Car hire is not essential but is recommended as this is a beautiful island that deserves to be explored, taxis are cheap and plentiful. Free bus to Caleta but it is within walking distance following the perimeter of the golf course. 15 minutes drive to Fuerteventura airport (you can see the planes but they don't disturb the peace!).
Distances
5 minutes by car to nearest beach and lagoon. 25 mins stroll to beach, Atlantico shopping centre and complex. There's a free bus to the centre and Caleta once an hour from the golf club 3 mins walk away. 3/4 hour by car to stunning white Costa Calma beaches, fantastic windsurfing,kite-surfing, Oasis camel rides, zoo, go-karts. 1/2 hour by car to historic Bettancuria, scenic drive through mountains to other side of the island. Corralejo (Las Dunas, boat trips to Lobos, Lanzarote) 3/4 hour by car.

Windsurfing, deep sea fishing, diving, sailing, quad bikes, walking, tennis, health spa. Very well stocked and competatively priced Spar supermarket with delicatessen, fish, meat, etc., plus freshly baked bread as well as local shops. It is so easy to buy any groceries you need. I don't bring anything from UK as I can get it in Caleta. Good choice of excellent restaurants for every taste, palate and pocket plus Tapas bars, icecream parlour, crepes, (you could choose a different restaurant each night and there'd still be plenty to try next time you visit) and shops in Caleta. Sky TV sports bars and places with live entertainment for all the family. We love listening (and singing along) to Alberto at El Patio whilst we tuck into their scrummy food!! All very relaxed. Banks where you can use UK debit card to draw money from cash machine. Very easy parking or free bus from Elba Palace Hotel just around the corner from Casa Felicidad. Internet cafe.
One of my favourite occupations is to stride along fabulous cliff top walk (north from the charming marina where you can catch the catamaran for stunning coastal voyages). Feel 'glad to be alive', refreshed by ozone and rejuvenated from watching the dazzling emerald ocean tipped with a million dancing diamonds. Cheeky chipmunks dart out from the rocks to see if you have any peanuts whilst egrets stand aloof distancing themselves from such wanton forwardness. Alternately, walk South towards Las Salinas and explore the rocky shore where local fishermen cast their lines. Check out the fossilised sand and enormous whale skeleton - amazing. We love this place. Treat yourself to a meal (excellent fresh fish and very garlicky garlic prawns - you won't have any trouble with vampires after this dish!) or a drink at the only bar by the Salt Museum on the tiny (usually deserted) beach which is also perfect for children, fascinating rock pools at low tide.

About the owner
We run a successful self catering holiday business, Barlings Barn, Mid-Wales, UK, which we set up 26 years ago after buying and restoring a ruined barn and 18C farmhouse in these beautiful hills. We have applied the same principles and high standards overseas, so we hope you will feel cossetted and comfy, yet totally at home on holiday. The space and facilities we found inside the properties bowled us over and persuaded us that this was somewhere we could enjoy happy holidays ourselves and offer something very special to our guests. Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We were on holiday in Fuerteventura and just wanted to relax on the beach and watch the beautiful ocean but serendipitously our accommodation was changed and we ended up staying opposite the new golf course. Terry is a golf nut, I'm not but it doesn't matter, quite simply we fell in love with Casa Felicidad and the location. When the agent drew the lounge curtains to the view across the course to the sea our jaws dropped! We still love it and relish every minute spent in our gorgeous peaceful haven. We're thrilled that guests share our enthusiasm and want to return. Lovely location, far from the madding crowd, yet easy access to beaches, bars, etc. We've invested time, thought and effort into making this into something special with everything you'll need, even FREE internet & PlayStation.
Unique benefits of the property
The living is easy at Casa Felicidad. Convenient for beach/shops/restaurants. Having your own spacious private gated garden when you are on holiday is such a bonus and as the mum of four a real boon if you have small children as there's plenty of safe space for them to play. Casa Felicidad is bathed in sunshine all day, literally from the sun rising out of the ocean to the spectacular sunsets you can enjoy from your hot tub, but you have a lovely shady large room-size veranda, perfect for siestas for young and old! This place is so much more than your normal holiday let. We've kitted it out so that you could comfortably live there if you wished - and many do wish! The swimming pool is huge – at least 75 ft long, the photographs don’t do it justice, with a large children’s pool too-Enjoy!
