A newly built, quality, non complex apartment. Particularly suitable those seeking a quiet holiday or a base of which to explore the island. The apartment is fully equipped, comfortable with a private heated pool set on the edge of the tranquil village of Lajares. This apartment is surrounded by lush, green volcanic gardens with open views over fields and hills many of which are extinct volcanoes. The apartment can sleep up to 4 persons with 2 on a sofa bed. Lajares is a multicultural village set in the north of the island of Fuerteventura, midway between its main tourist resort of Corralejo, the quite Spanish village of Cotillo and the very small village of Majanicho. All 3 locations have superb golden sandy beaches and are just 10 minutes away (approximately 5 miles). Lajares is well served by public transport and taxis which are relatively inexpensive. The village has many bars, shops and restaurants. For complete flexibility and convenience, a hire car is highly recommend.

If your plans are to stay for longer than two weeks, please contact us and we will be happy to discuss special rates. If required, we can collect you from the airport and/or return you to the airport at the end of your holiday for 35 euros (£25) each way – the taxi charge is approximately 45 euros (£31) each way. If we arrange a car hire for you, this charge may be waived.

Changeover day
Departure/arrival times are usually flexible depending on whether or not there are follow on guests. If there is a tight turn round time, we would ask that the apartment be vacated by 11am and arrival time is not before 2pm.

Bedrooms: Double bed, bedside cabinets and lamps, chair and chest of draws. Bedlinen is changed weekly.
Bathrooms: Usual facilities with a walk in shower. Towels are changed weekly. These should not be removed from the apartment.
Kitchen: Fully fitted kitchen area with large work surface, plenty of cooking utensils, crockery and glassware. The kitchen has a hob, oven and microwave, fridge freezer, automatic washing machine, a kettle and toaster. There is a dining table and 4 chairs.
Living Rooms: The lounge has a quality settee that converts into a double bed and for entertainment there is a Satellite television, VCR, DVD, plus a cassette and radio CD player. Internet access is available via a dial up connection in both the lounge and bedrooms.
Other: Hallway linking all rooms. This also contains a large fitted wardrobe containing an iron and ironing board, airer, blankets and a quilt. There are also cushions for the outside chairs.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Towels and bedlinen included. These are changed weekly. Towels should not be removed from the apartment.

 

Notes on accommodation
The apartment is non smoking, however guests may smoke out on the patio. The apartment is not suitable for children therefore no children please. Pets are not permitted.

Accessibility
There are no steps to the apartment. Therefore the apartment is suitable for those with restricted mobility.
For flexibility a hire car is recommended.

Outside
A patio with a pergola (to shield you from the sun in midsummer), wooden table and chairs. Adjacent there is a terrace with sun beds, and an outdoor shower. The swimming pool is 8m x 4m in size. For all year round comfort the pool is solar heated and to retain the heat, there is an insulated cover for when the pool is not in use. The pool is for the sole use of the guests. (The owners may use the pool in the guests absence.)

Coast/Beach
Lajares is a multicultural village set in the north of the island of Fuerteventura, midway between its main tourist resort of Corralejo, the quite Spanish village of Cotillo and the very small village of Majanicho. All three locations have superb golden sandy beaches and are just 10 minutes away (approximately 5 miles). Due to Fuerteventura's closeness to Lanzarote, it is possible to visit the other island by taking a 15 minute ferry ride which runs every hour from Corralejo.

Golf
There are two golf courses on the island and a number more under construction.

Skiing
Due to the weather conditions on Fuerteventura there is no winter skiing. Water skiing is available.
Windsurfing, kite surfing and surfing conditions are world class. To cater for these there are many schools and hire centres in the area.

Travel
Due to the location of the apartment, a car is highly recommended and can be pre-booked in the UK or we can arrange car hire for you. Cars can be collected at the airport, Corralejo or delivered to the apartment. Car hire rates are from approximately £160/£180 for 2 weeks. There is a regular bus service between Corralejo, the capital Puerto del Rosario and El Cotillo. Taxis are easily available. The airport is approximately 30km away taking around 40 mins.

Distances
Within the village the bus stop is 700m away with the supermarket 1100m away, other shops, bars and restaurants are in between these.

Further details
The following is a list of facilities in the village which may be of interest - a cash point, 6 bars serving food and drinks, restaurant with a small hotel, supermarket which sells meat and fish, paper shop which sells some English newspapers, chemist who is English speaking, pizzeria, goat's cheese maker, a community centre where village festivities can be watched at certain times of the year and where a small Saturday morning vegetable market is held which sells local produce. A church which sometimes has some colorful processions and outdoor services, 2 furniture and home decoration shops, an estate agent, fitness centre, flood lit football stadium where local games can be watched, visitor/craft centre where you can see lace being made.
3 surf /windsurf shops/hire centres, production windsurf board developer/repairer, surf board manufacturer/repairer who also arrange lessons, sail repairer
And for the adventurous, walking in the hills to look into the remains of a real volcano, cycle riding (we have two cycles for hire). The owner's wife speaks fluent Spanish and is available to assist if any problems arise during your stay.

When you are happy to book your holiday, please confirm this with a 15% deposit. To allow us to be flexible with turnround times, please advise us of your approximate time of arrival and at the end of your holiday the time you wish to vacate the apartment.

Guest comments
A gem of a holiday home. Spacious, comfortable and with all the facilities we could want. Loved the swimming pool – warm, inviting, just perfect for an end of day swim.
This was our first stay in Lajares and we enjoyed the location – just a few minutes from the Lagoons at El Cotillo but also Corralejo. A short stroll into the village for an evening meal. This holiday home would merit discerning Fuerte lovers.

Had a wonderful holiday, the villa is beautiful. The swimming pool was great, overall a very relaxing holiday, quiet and peaceful will definitely recommend to friends and family.

Many thanks for a warm welcome to such a comfortable and well appointed apartment. The heated pool and the quiet location were the deciding factors in our choice of venue. We now know we made the right decisions and would not hesitate to recommend this to like minded couples.

Had a wonderful holiday. Apartment & pool was lovely and so nice to have it all to ourselves. We will be returning soon.
