Notes on accommodation
This villa is suitable for all (given location) but is particulary child friendly with locking gate separating upper patio from pool area. Fans and heaters are provided for summer and winter months. Security grilles on windows and patio doors give you extra peace of mind as does the cemented safe. 32" wall mounted LCD TV with free view card. Mosquito nets in all rooms.

though pool on lower level.
Outside
Private solar heated pool with additional electrical heating in winter (no charge). This is particularly child friendly being 1.2m deep. There is a locking gate between pool area and upper patio. Patio furniture includes dining table and 6 chairs, 6 sun beds with mattresses and sun umbrella. There is also a built-in BBQ & covered patio area. Attractive mature gardens surround the villa and there are mountain views. There is a communal tennis court that can be used by villa guests.

Nearest beach 10 mins walk (town beach) Playa Flamingo and Playa Dorada approx 20 mins walk.
Water taxi to natural park beaches of Papagayo or 15 mins. drive.
Golf
25 mins drive to golf course in Tias, 45 mins drive to golf course in Costa Teguise.

Fishing from piers on Dorada and Flamingo beaches. Deep sea/sports fishing. Water sports on Dorada beach. Diving schools. Free use of communitie's tennis court. Mini golf 5 minutes walk. Pony trekking & Camel rides.
Travel
Arreciffe airport approx 30 mins drive. As the property is so centrally situated a car is not necessary unless you want to explore further afield. Taxis from the village are also very reasonable and readily available. There are also excellent bus routes for during your stay.

5 mins walk Playa Blanca village. Marina 5 mins drive. Papagayo natural park beaches, 15 min drive. Timanfaya Volcanic National Park 20 mins drive. There are 3 local beaches within walking distance. A large selection of restaurants and shops within easy walking distance.

About the owner
I first came to Lanzarote in 2000 with my partner Jean and immediately fell in love with island, especially Playa Blanca. We returned later in the same year when I bought my 'plot of land'. Three years later Casa Luna & Estrella were finished. A long, hard and sometimes frustrating slog but well worth the effort. The past two years we have been living near Alicante on the mainland but each time we came to Playa Blanca we realised what we were missing. Consequently, in September 2009 we moved (dog & all) to this unique and beautiful little island. Not only was it a good decision for us but also for our guests, many of which return year after year. While always respecting their privacy, we are on hand to help & advise on anything from good places to eat to what to do in an emergency.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
Why Lanzarote, especially Playa Blanca ?? All year round sunny climate. Not as hot as Mainland in summer and a lot warmer in the winter. Certainly not as crowded July & August. The sea may not be as warm as the Med in the summer but it is crystal clear.
Come in early December and it is just like being in another world! Sunshine, 16C night time temps. Sunset at 18.30 not in the middle of the afternoon! No Christmas shopping! So benefits all year round without the high rise of the other islands.
Playa Blanca has seen a lot of development in recent years but all 'tastefully' done. The new Marina being a good example. All the beaches are safe, the promenade goes on for miles (for walkers) with fantastic views. Multitude of Restaurants most with Ocean views. All 30 mins from airport.
Unique benefits of the property
Location location location. The Villas are situated in the quiet residential area of Los Calamares with only 5/7 mins walk to the 'heart' of the old Village. I always attach a google map showing exactly where the Villas are situated.
The locking gate to the Pool area is a 'godsend' as guests with small children have noted. The pool is 1.2m throughout so parents can bathe with toddlers without being out of their depth. Solar & Electric heating ensure a pleasant bathing temp all year round.
Because we live here, the maintenance is up to date and any problems are rectified immediately.
