Playa Paraiso Residencial is a brand new apartment complex built to very high standards situated on an elevated position just outside the tranquil town of Costa Calma in the south of Fuerteventura. Our apartment is on the top floor of this lovely development with spectacular, panoramic views over the town, Atlantic Ocean and mountains in the distance. Access to the glorious white sands of Sotavento de Jandia, one of the most beautiful stretches of beach in Europe (22miles long; from Costa Calma to Morro Jable), takes approximately 10 minutes by foot. Our apartment overlooks the turquoise waters of Playa Esmeralda, perfect for bathing and Playa La Barca: a world renowned kite-boarding and windsurfing beach, where, 3 weeks of the year, during July and August, rounds of the PWA windsurfing and PKRA kite-boarding championships are held.

Changeover day
Changeover day is flexible, the most common days for flights from the UK are Wednesday and Saturday, although Thomson does fly Tuesday and Friday (seasonal).

Bedroom 2: Double futon bunk bed, with single bunk above and fitted wardrobe.

Kitchen: Fully equipped kitchen with breakfast bar. Includes electric oven and hob, fridge with ice-box, washing machine, microwave, crockery and cutlery for 6.
Living Rooms: Open plan lounge with enormous picture window and stunning views! Includes corner sofa bed (sleeps 2 adults comfortably), leather easy chair and foot stool, coffee table and matching TV cabinet, TV, DVD, CD, Playstation 2.
Other: Dining area in lounge with glass table and 4 chairs. Balcony with table and chairs.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Towels, linen and blankets are included. The apartment is cleaned once a week, however if you would prefer a more regular service please let us know and we will arrange.

 

Notes on accommodation
Air-conditioning is not required, the apartment is cool during the hottest months of July and August. Not suitable for anyone with a phobia of heights. Children are welcome although, we advise supervision at all times especially on the balcony and by the pool.

Accessibility
Although our apartment is on the top floor, due to the layout of the car parking area, we are only up one flight of stairs. There are several lifts on the development, one of which is glass and has fantastic views. There are ramps to the pool area so although not ideal it is feasible that wheelchairs users could use it.

Outside
The swimming pool is communal and a good size, it has a constant depth of approx 1.25 metres. There are plenty of sun loungers and parasols available and has toilet and shower facilities. There is access to 2 roof terraces, one enormous terrace adjacent to the apartment and a second, more private, terrace above the apartment. There is a glass lift immediately adjacent to the apartment which has amazing views. The internal gardens are 'bedded-in' and growing well, other planted areas are relatively new and will take a while longer to grow to their full potential.

Coast/Beach
Playa Esmeralda and Playa La Barca are approximately 10 minutes walk from the apartment. Both are beautiful with white sand and turquoise waters. There are also numerous 'hidden gems' all along the coastline, the best way to explore is to hire a car and follow any dirt track or off-road route to the sea. Hire cars in Fuerteventura are very hardy, so don't be scared to be adventurous.

Golf
There is a 9-hole course in La Pared, approximately 15 minutes drive.
There is another, brand new, 9-hole course opened in Jandia, approximately 15 minutes drive.
I do not know whether you can hire clubs at either course so it is worth checking.

Travel
The apartment is approximately 50 miles south of the only airport on the island, Puerto de Rosario. Return taxi journey costs approximately 120 euros. There is also a very good bus service that covers the whole island, however the best way to get about the island is to hire a car. A week's hire is approximately £120, the best companies are Cabrera Medina and Auto Reisin.

Costa Calma town is approximately 1km, 2 minute drive.
Oasis Park Zoo and Botanical Gardens, 15 minute drive.
La Pared 9-hole Golf Course, 15 minute drive.
Jandia 9-hole Golf Course, 15 minute drive.
Jandia is a 15 minute drive.

Further details
Costa Calma has numerous restaurants and bars plus a couple of small nightclubs. There are many 4* and 5* hotels offering entertainment, bar and spa facilities. There are several good supermarkets and interesting shops. Jandia and Morro Jable have many more restaurants, bars and shops. The most common activity in the area is windsurfing and kiteboarding which take place on Playa La Barca and Risco Del Paso beach where the local Pro Center, Rene-egli is based. We can offer discounts on courses and equipment booked through us, please ask at the time of booking the apartment. Other activities locally include swimming, sunbathing, sea-fishing (in Jandia), walking, naturism (please note many of the beaches are considered naturist so there will be some naked people about), quad bikes, off-roading, shopping, restaurants, bars and internet cafe/Wi-Fi

Booking notes
Please call or email for confirmation of availability and special requests. A non-refundable booking deposit of 25% of the total cost is due immediately, final balance is due within 6 weeks of departure. A refundable 'Damages' deposit of £150 is required at this time and will be repaid within 2 weeks of your return assuming that is no damage, breakages or theft.
