Villa Mar is a luxury 2 bedroom, self catering, semi detached quality duplex villa, with an easy layout that has the advantage of it’s own private pool (heated from Sept-April), spacious terraces, professionally planted garden and a lifesize BBQ. It is situated in beautiful surroundings in Puerto Rubicón with a full sized supermarket, taxi rank and 5 star hotel all within 50 metres of your front door. It is 2 mins walk from the coastal path, a stunning scenic walk which will take you east to the world famous Papagayo beaches or west to Pechiguera Lighthouse, both extremities of the island on the south coast. A comfortable stroll along here will take you to the Prestigious Marina with it’s stylish shops and restaurants, Dorada Beach, and Playa Blanca Village itself with it’s sandy beach and many seafront cafés and restaurants. To indicate distance, a taxi fare from Villa Mar to Playa Blanca is around £2.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week (not the number of people) and are in UK Pounds. 10% long stay discount if booking is more than 3 weeks. Prices are negotiable if booking is for periods of 2 months or more.

Changeover day
There is no fixed changeover day. To allow time for proper cleaning between lets we ask you to depart the villa before 10am & to arrive after 3pm. Late flight? We can organise luggage collection, airport transfers, temporary club/beach memberships.

Accommodation
Bedrooms: 1 double with balcony and sea views, 1 twin. Both with fitted wardrobes, bedside lockers and full length mirrors. There are good quality pillows, cushions and light duvets on the beds with extra pillows and blankets if required. You can sleep peacefully.
Bathrooms: There are 2 bathrooms, both fully tiled with WC, power shower, hand basin, large mirror and good lighting. The main one also has a bidet and bath.
There is an outdoor shower beside the pool.
We provide hand and shower towels. Beach towels too.
Kitchen: A dream - spacious and fully equipped. Granite worktops, oven, hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, extractor, kettle, cafetiére, toaster & all the crockery, saucepans, oven/tableware necessary for those who like to cook in. Lots of glasses too! We can shop 4U
Utility Room: There is a separate utility/breakfast room off the kitchen with a washing machine, iron, ironing board and all the more boring things! It also houses lilos, waterwings, snorkles.... and we also provide a travel cot and high chair at no extra cost.
Living Rooms: Bright & airy with patio doors opening out to terrace & pool. High ceilings keep it cool and comfortable indoors while there are comfy cushioned chairs to relax in. Satellite TV, DVD/CD/MP3, Ipod dock, great lighting... all you need to enjoy your stay.
Other: The villa is south facing and receives all day sun on the pool and terrace. There are 4 ergonomic sun loungers with different positions for your back and legs. Outdoor lighting so you can enjoy the pool, garden, BBQ, food and drinks at night too.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
The villa is cleaned thoroughly before your arrival and then weekly. We have an excellent linen and towel service, linen changed weekly and the soft hand and shower towels twice weekly. The pool and pool towels are cleaned/changed weekly.

Notes on accommodation
Villa Mar is in a very quiet area, yet close to all amenities. If you are driving there is private parking. If you are walking, the area is safe and well lit at night. The villa is south facing and provides all day sun, and the overhead balcony provides a welcome shaded area, as does the large parasol. Fans are also provided. There is a safe for your valuables and the garden is walled with a gate and intercom for total privacy. The villa has been decorated to a very high standard and you will find everything you need for your stay here, including a complimentary bottle of wine and water chilling in the fridge on your arrival to get you into the holiday athmosphere. We also provide a complimentary welcome pack of tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits. We can do special shoping for you too, either grocery or celebration packs. AND we can order special British breakfast and grocery products for you in advance. Just ask us... We request you not to smoke inside the villa.

Accessibility
This is a duplex villa with the main bathroom and both bedrooms on the first floor and so unfortunately it is not suitable for those unable to climb stairs.

Outside
Villa Mar looks out onto a park of elegant Canarian Palms and exotic Hoopoe birds. The main bedroom has a balcony with panoramic sea views out over the Bocayna Strait to Isla Lobos and the dramatic Fuerteventura skyline. Here you can sit and sip a morning coffee or enjoy a sundowner watching the boats sail in to the marina. This balcony provides shade to the dining area of the patio below where there is a large table, 4 chairs and a parasol. There are 4 sunloungers with different positions for your back and legs, on the spacious terrace beside the pool, with a shower to rinse you before and after that refreshing dip in your own completely private pool! There is a large stone BBQ for you to cook some authentic bbq steaks or fish on, in the canarian garden with it’s pepper and ficus trees and colourful cactus plants set in picon, a volcanic stone which retains moisture.

Coast/Beach
It's just 2 minutes walk to the coastal path with panoramic views where you can sit and look out to sea from the many in built seats, or choose a cliff top or rocky cove to sunbath in. Another 2 mins brings you to a black sand beach. Further to the west are the commercial white sand beaches Playa Dorada, Playa Blanca & Playa Flamingo. But if you like it unspolit, walk or cycle thru a Protected Nature Reserve to Papagayo's soft sand beaches, crystal clear water, set under cliffs with magic views.

Golf
A full golf course is planned for Playa Blanca, meanwhile there is 9 hole golf, krazy golf and pitch and putt available close by with an 18 hole golf course approximately 40 minutes drive away.

Travel
Lanzarote airport is 30 minutes drive. Taxis are plentiful, but if you intend exploring the island and it's attractions by hire car, consider taking the car from the airport.
Fuerteventura airport is also an option. 45 minutes drive to the port town of Correlejo and then a 20 minute ferry ride to Playa Blanca.
There is a regular scheduled bus service to Arrecife with connections to other towns. Many tour buses operate excursions.
We can organise transfers at either airport if required.

Further details
Lanzarote is designated a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO; it is an island of all-white villages, roadside flowers and tough rules against advertising billboards. It’s got its own National Park with geysers, moon-like lava fields and numerous dormant volcanoes and sandy beaches. Playa Blanca is known locally as ‘the pearl of the south’, with it’s special climate and one of the largest beach promenades in Europe. The sea temperature rarely drops below 18degC and underwater visibility ranges from 6m - 20m depending on the season.
Because of the proximity of the neighbouring island of Fuerteventura, Playa Blanca is a perfect starting point for excursions to explore the long sandy beaches in the north of that island or a trip to the town of Corralejo.
Whether you wish to visit the tourist attractions on the island; natural spots like Timanfaya, (where at times you will think you have landed on the moon), volcanos, historical heritage, camels, unique beaches, protected landscapes, lava fields, leisure and sport activities, vinyards, salt mines;
Or stroll through town centres and enjoy shops and markets; eat in Spanish, Italian, Tex Mex, Japanese, Chinese Restaurants or enjoy French Crepes, Ice Cream, Tapas or a long cool drink in waterside bars and restauranst;
Or swim, bowl, surf, sail, dive, fish, golf, walk, run, jog, read, it’s all close by. Villa Mar is ideal for families or couples; but be warned, you may never wish to go out, preferring to just relax and soak up the sun in this very comfortable villa with it's amazing fit out, own private pool and garden...

Booking notes
Bookings can be made by telephone. The minimum rental amount is 1 week. A deposit of £200 is required on booking. The balance is payable 6 weeks before your holiday (or immediately if the booking time is shorter than 6 weeks). A £200 refundable security deposit is required.

'We've been to quite a few apartments/villas and I think that this is the first time that we did not feel we had to wash the china and cutlery before using it! We also appreciated the attention to details, little things like extra towels in each bathroom, a wonderful selection of equipment and empty spaces to store foodstuffs. The pool was a real bonus for us too - we certainly would not have used it without the heating and after all the eating we needed to do so!
