Casa Sophia is situated in the exclusive resort of Las Coloradas, in the sunny south of Lanzarote. Behind the villa and only an 8 minute walk away, you can explore the fantastic natural white beach coves of Payagayo. Here you can go snorkelling and the beaches are known to be the finest in the Canary Islands. Alternatively, you can experience the Playa Dorada beach which is approximately 3 minutes drive away. Here you will find a lovely bay with sun beds, umbrellas, restaurants, shops and water sports for the more energetic. In addition to the villa's wonderful location, with it's plentiful amenities, it is also, if desired, a haven in which to simply relax and chill out by the villa's own heated new pool. The villa has the privilege also of south and west facing large terraces for all day sun. However there is an outside covered area and/or parasol in which to take shade. There are pretty garden areas stocked with sub-tropical plants, and a new BBQ area adjacent, for alfresco dining.

Bedrooms: Casa Sophia has two light, airy and spacious bedrooms with matching modern furniture, including large wardrobes, bedside cabinets. Luxury 'Fantasia' ceiling fans and mosquito blinds are also fitted in each room. The beds have luxury quality mattresses.
Bathrooms: A light and airy room, with a modern white, chrome and granite concept. Comprising of a bath/shower, bidet, wc, and washbasin sunk into a spacious dark granite surface. Chrome towel rails, and a large mirror, fitted with two integral lights. Hair dryer.
Kitchen: This new modern kitchen is well presented and fully equipped. The kitchen has a ceramic hob fitted into a dark granite work surface, an overhead stainless steel extract' fan, oven, grill, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, built in microwave, kettle. toaster.
Utility Room: Washing machine, iron/ironing board, clothes dryer.
Living Rooms: The lounge area is light and spacious, with two new comfortable leather sofas, dining table and chairs, matching sideboard and coffee tables. For your pleasure, there is a LCD TV complete with satellite, DVD player, and a hi-fi system.
Other: A new patio area has recently been constructed for private sunbathing, with sunbeds. This has been completed to a high standard with beautiful Spanish ceramic tiles laid.

A new purpose built BBQ has also recently been built for al fresco dining.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Clean luxury white cotton bed linen and towels are provided each week and a towel change midweek, if required. Please bring your own beach towels. A cleaning service, including pool cleaning, is also provided.

 

Notes on accommodation
We are very proud to offer our delightful villa, which has been tastefully furnished to a high standard throughout in a contemporary style, whilst also maintaining a Spanish theme. It has been designed to provide maximum comfort in all rooms. In the lounge, there are two new leather sofas, a coffee table and side table, with matching sideboard, dining table and chairs, all of which are the same in design. The furniture was purchased from Valencia in mainland Spain. There are two sets of double patio doors from the lounge leading out onto the large terraces, and the outdoor solar heated swimming pool, and outdoor shower area. Luxury ceiling fans by 'Fantasia' have been fitted in each bedroom, and there are mosquito blinds and shutters fitted at the windows of each room. Additionally, in the main bedroom, there is a TV with an integrated video player and a selection of videos. The kitchen is modern and extremely well equipped, with home from home comforts. A safe is also provided.

Accessibility
Casa Sophia, both inside and outside, is on one level.
The pathway to the villa is also on one level, making this suitable for guests with walking difficulties.

Outside
The private outdoor new swimming pool is solar heated and for the sole use of guests. There is also an outdoor shower for use with the pool. Reclining sunbeds are provided with luxury cushions. Casa Sophia benefits from both South and West facing spacious terraces, for all day sun, one of which has a shaded eating area, complete with a hardwood teak wooden table and reclining chairs with comfortable cushions. It is simply a haven in which to relax, whilst watching and experiencing the joyous sunsets in the early evenings from the patios. The villa boasts beautiful garden areas, which are well stocked with cacti and Sub-Tropical plants. There is also an outdoor BBQ area adjacent for alfresco dining, with a newly constructed purpose built BBQ. A private parking space is provided exclusive to the villa.

Coast/Beach
The nearest beach from the villa is a 500 metres/3 minute walk. The beach, is ideal for sea fishing, rock-pooling or sunbathing, whilst also offering superb views of the neighbouring island Fuertuventura.
An 8 minute walk away will bring you to the famous majestic natural white sand Papagayo Beaches (1 naturist), said to be the most beautiful on the island.
Alternatively, the Playa Dorada beach an approx 3 min drive away, has a lovely bay with sun beds, umbrellas, shops, bars and watersports.

Golf
A new 18 hole golf course and clubhouse has recently opened in Puerto Del Carmen. This is an approximate 30 minute drive away from the villa. Golf buggies and equipment may be hired here.

There is also a golf course on the island which is based at Costa Teguise, towards the north east of Arrecife. This is an approximate 40 minute drive away, out from Playa Blanca.

Travel
Arrecife Airport is an approximate 35 minute drive to Las Coloradas. A car is recommended, although not essential, as the taxi services are exceptional, plentiful and not expensive. A taxi rank is located at the arrival lounge of the airport. As there is much to do and see on the island however, should you wish to hire a car, we would be happy to help and advise
on discounted car hire available with a reputable company.

Distances
The island of Fuertaventura is a 35 min ferry crossing from the port in Playa Blanca. You can go across as a foot passenger or take your car for the day. Playa Blanca is the nearest village to Las Coloradas with plenty of shops. Playa Blanca is a fishing village, with it's white washed walls and houses providing a sparkling backdrop to the sand and clear blue sea. In a prime location and boasts attractive, good value, waterfront bars and restaurants, Playa Blanca is a 20 min walk/3min drive.

Further details
Close by are the 4 and 5 star hotels where you are welcome to stroll around and relax, whilst also offering internet facilities. Additionally a 3 min walk away will take you to the Moorish style development 'El Pueblo' with it's attractive water features and sub-tropical plants. The facilities include open air terrace bars serving snacks and delicious home made ice-creams, restaurants, shops and children's adventure playground. Within a 15 min coastal walk away with breathtaking and spectacular views en-route, particularly of the neighbouring island Fuerturventura, is the new impressive Marina Rubicon, with it's moored yachts, open air bars, plentiful restaurants shops and banks offering the ultimate experience in which to relax and enjoy your holiday in style. The Marina also offers many recreational activities e.g. sailing, scuba diving (lessons are also available), deep sea fishing trips, outdoor tennis courts, boat trips and ten pin bowling. Upon booking, we will provide an arrival checklist and various location maps to ensure your smooth journey to the villa from the airport. The maps also provide details and points of interest in the village, such as banks, village church, taxi rank location, internet cafes, and best supermarkets. A detailed and comprehensive A4 sized file has also been compiled and is regularly kept updated, of good 'value for money' restaurants, local shops and sites and places to visit whilst on the island.

Tennis courts are available for hire at the Cay Beach Hotel. This is a two minute walk from the villa. Tennis equipment may also be hired.

Booking notes
A non-refundable deposit of £100/per week is required to secure the booking. The balance required 8 weeks prior to arrival. A welcome pack (on request) can be provided, please ask. We can offer a discounted car hire service from a reputable car hire company on the island. A pick up service is also offered, if required, from the airport. Please ask.

A damage deposit of £200 is taken at the time of booking. This will remain uncashed and returned promptly following your return.
