The property has almost a kilometer of shoreline and climbs 400m uphill. A local 'taxi-boat' will land You on the beach, ten steps from the veranda of the colonial style house. Trails connect to other properties along the west shores of the tropical fjord, entering 9 km into the mountains. No road, no fence, no electricity - but living without 'civilization' can be very comfortable: water comes from the mountain, solar and gas heaters provide hot water, refrigerators and freezers are gas powered. Candles and gas lanterns are more romantic than electric bulbs! The moon shines over the bay, right onto the beach. The sea is warm all year (above 23 deg.). There are no currents and only small waves = safe for small children. Several canoes are available, paddling into the mangroves in the end of the bay is an adventure for young and old. Remote but easy to reach: Located at the border of Sao Paulo and Rio, both airports are within 4 hours by road + 20 minutes by boat.

Notes on prices
Rate considers a minimum of four persons, but are flexible. Other currencies can be agreed upon. Longer stay than one week qualifies for discount. Not included in the rate: - Bus, taxi and boat fares. - Daily cleaning, cooking, catering or other services. - Excursions and guiding. Free of charge: Canoes, Bananas, potable water, gas. Bed linen & towels. Kitchen is well equipped.

Notes on accommodation
Having a beach for yourself is the main attraction, consider outdoor activities at all times ! A few members of the local community may pass the property to catch a bus to town (long walk) or visit relatives. They are all our friends since 25 years. Some Service can be added, but only by local population (fishermen & wife). Don´t expect hotel level service (you will find it would be totally unnecessary). Owner can provide some catering, as there is no supermarket within reach ! More bed capacity can be provided, but consider reduced comfort. Local language is Portuguese, - Owner speaks also English, Swedish, German, Spanish.

Location Information: Far from civilization, access by boat only ! Small beach between green djungle and blue tropical fjord, surrounded by mountains over 1000 m. A perfect setting for a “three generation vacation”: senior members enjoy the views and stroll on the beach, keeping a watch while the juniors play in the sand or shallow waters, while parents are off canoeing in the mangroves, trekking, swimming, diving, sailing, bird watching, fishing and more. Candle light dinners. Comfortable accommodation within few steps from the beach. Other Activities: Historical Town (Paraty)
