Because our guests are travelling a long way we try to be as flexible as possible about changeover.

Accommodation

Notes on accommodation
Mobile phone for guests' use (with card) for local calls. Free broadband internet use. There is a sauna and separate children's pool. The villa is set in a beautiful, small condominium with a large garden and pool area, with a gate leading directly onto the beach. It is completely secure with a security guard 24/7. It is highly suitable for children. There is secure parking for two cars.

Accessibility
The owner is a wheelchair user although she does not need to use the wheelchair in the house. There is a downstairs bedroom and shower room but the bathrooms are not wheelchair accessible. We can help guests with disabilities, please talk with owner regarding details. Wheelchair hire available.

Outside
Large garden with large pool, children's pool, sauna and BBQ. Villa has terrace facing garden with outdoor furniture. Verandas off upstairs bedrooms have tables, chairs and hammocks. Small roof terrace. There is garden furniture by the pool. The pool is shared but hardly used.

Coast/Beach
You go through a gate at the bottom of the garden onto Praia do Flamengo. From the villa to the beach it is about 60m. Praia do Flamengo is a beautiful, clean beach which is popular with surfers. The villa is situated on the quietest part of the beach although there are a couple of barracas - straw beach huts for drinks and simple fish dishes. Further down the beach are more sophisticated beach cafes.

Golf
Small golf course and tennis courts at Sofitel, about 10 mins drive.

Special interest holidays
Praia do Flamengo is a wonderful surf beach and there is an English speaking surf instructor who can help our guests learn to surf.

Travel
Salvador airport is 15 mins' drive. Car hire is not essential because you are based in a village with a good bus service directly outside the condominium taking you down the coastal road to Salvador and elsewhere. Taxis are cheap. Car hire can be arranged and there is secure parking. Our English speaking guide can often provide a taxi service.

Distances
5/10 mins walk to Praia do Flamengo village centre which has a small square with shops, restaurant, cafes, Internet cafe. All along Praia do Flamengo are barracas for drinks and lunch.
Salvador city centre is 40/50 mins' drive. Praia do Forte, the ecological tourist village is one hour's drive and there are lots of beautiful beaches and fishing villages just up the coast from Praia do Flamengo which are an easy morning or afternoon out. Our English speaking guide is available to take you out.

Further details
We can arrange guided tours - or taxis if you want to go independently - to Salvador's historic old city Pelhourinho, the city's museums and modern art gallery, a trip around Salvador's Islands, visits to the beaches at Arembepe, Guarajuba, Imbassai, Praia do Forte. Diving, tennis, golf, jet ski, horse riding. Good local restaurants, or you can order off the villa menu and eat at home. We also offer a BBQ service.

Booking notes
We will hold dates for 7 days pending receipt of deposit of 20% total cost of holiday. Payment in full 8 weeks before holiday begins. Rental includes gas, linen etc. Collection from and to airport, welcome meal with wine on arrival, breakfast every day, housekeeper 6 days a week. Electricity is extra.
