Both properties have broadband facilities. The garden available to both properties features a gazebo with children's play area, 2 fountains, many fruit and native trees. Both properties have outside beach showers and access to kayak.

Accommodation
House: Sleeps 6 (3 Bedrooms)
The house was built incorporating recycled/reclaimed materials (lots of Brazilian hardwood). Bedroom 1: large double bedroom w/separate closet area, on the top floor, separated from the rest of the house. It has small veranda and views over sea and mountains.
Bedroom 2: double bedroom with 2 sets of French doors opening to a private veranda overlooking the bay and the other over the front garden. Bedroom 3: double bedroom with pretty bay-window w/sea-views and French doors over front garden. 1 beautiful large bathroom w/views over the forest, a second toilet. The large high ceiling sitting room/dining room/kitchen area is open plan leading into extensive wooden deck. There is mezzanine over kitchen. The kitchen has an island w/cooker top and oven, fridge/freezer, other electrical appliances (blender, toaster, kettle, sandwich-maker. cooking implements, sets of crockery and cuttlery. Basement contains open space for parties/barbecue, laundry area w/washing machine and a 2nd bathroom.

Seafront Cottage: Sleeps 2/3 (1 Bedroom)
60 sq.m., 1 bedroom wooden cottage. 1 double bedroom, sitting room with windows opening up to the beach. Small veranda leading to courtyard. Kitchen with cooker and oven, hot water taps, small fridge. Washing Machine Bathroom with hot water. Small courtyard/garden surrounding cottage with many plants and a fountain. Cottage would suit couple or couple with 1 or 2 small children.

Notes on accommodation
The cottage is suitable for a young family as it is facing a "family beach" with calm waters and a playground/square in the sea-front.
Situated within the village, the property is within walking distance of local shops, the many seafood restaurants (oyster and mussels cultivated in the area) and a local bus service.
The rental of both houses together is open to negotiation.
The property was built/redecorated following "green" guidelines as much as possible. It is made with local, reclaimed and organic materials. Buildings were made to let in a lot of natural sunlight and ventilation. It boasts solar panel water heating system, rain water usage and grey and black water recycling. All internal/external walls are painted with limewash and earth pigments.
The garden is being replanted with native trees and local plants as much as possible. It already contained some mature fruit trees such as guava, "nespera" and "ciriguela", star fruit, as well as bananas and papayas.

Accessibility
Both properties are not suitable for people with mobility problems as there are many stairs and land is on a slope.

Outside
3 bedroom house has open basement suitable for parties and barbecues it also has a swing and places for hammocks. The garden open to both is planted with many fruit trees and newly planted native trees. It has a path leading down to the gazebo and linking it to the cottage and beach. The gazebo is situated between both properties and amongst the fruit trees, has electricity and water and can be a 2nd barbecue area. It is attractive to children with a climbing pole, seesaw and place for hanging hammocks. Both houses have an outside shower for use after the beach and outside garden furniture.

Coast/Beach
The property is on "Ponta do Sambaqui" beach, a small, treelined, family beach with calm warm waters, restaurants and bars. Local beach good for kayaking (one at the property), windsurfing and sailing. The upmarket resort of Jurerê International, Daniela Beach, Praia do Forte are all a 15 mins car ride. The property is also within easy reach of all the Northern Beaches such as Santinho and Praia Brava.
There are also many walks around the region.

Travel
40 mins. from Hercilio Luz international Airport (Florianopolis' airport)
Car hire is not essential, but advisable if you want to get to know the island well. Property accessible from the centre via the local bus service (Transol's Sto. Antonio/Sambaqui route) 30mins ride, every 20 mins week day service, connections at local bus terminals for all beaches in the island.

Distances
10/15 mins to the fashionable Jurere Internacional, and other norther beaches Daniela, Praia do Forte.
20/30 mins by car from the centre of Florianopolis.
about 30 mins to Lagoa (depending on traffic). It is the gateway to the Eastern open beaches good for surfing and other watersports.

Further details
Although small, the villages of Sambaqui/Sto. Antonio have good local shops well supplied with most everyday items. They also have good weekly fruit and veg markets. Main supermarkets and banks approx. 15 mins by car.
This is a sea-food cultivating region with many local restaurants serving fresh oyster, mussels, etc. There are local arts and crafts shops and markets in both Sto. Antonio and Sambaqui. The larger Sto. Antonio have many buildings of Portuguese heritage with a beautiful 18th century church overlooking the main square.
