Turn left out of Casa Flamengo and within 30 seconds you're at a stunningly beautiful lagoon where you can go fishing, take a boat out or simply relax while watching the sun go down. Turn right and you're just a minute away from one of the most popular beaches in Salvador. Known for its warm and calm waters, Praia do Flamengo is favoured by swimmers. Though it is relatively peaceful during the week, it has an incredible atmosphere on weekends, especially on Sundays when it is full of the locals eating, drinking and dancing the night away. Casa Flamengo is perfectly located to have as your holiday base. It is a short 15 minutes away from Salvador's international airport, 20 minutes from the main shopping areas and only 35 minutes from Pelourinho the historical old town with its fantastic views of All Saints' Bay and easy access to the beautiful island of Itaparica. There are 3 washrooms all with showers/WCs in the main house. There is also an outside shower and w/c near the pool/BBQ area. Additionally there is a separate washroom with shower and WC in the maids quarters. |

The large kitchen comes complete with all utensils, pots, glassware, cutlery, crockery, fridge/freezer, microwave, cooker/oven, water cooler, kettle and breakfast bar and chairs. Adjacent, there is also a large cold storage room for keeping food fresh. |

There is a utility room that has a large washing machine and a hand sink. There is also an iron and ironing board. |
| Living Rooms: |
There are 2 living areas both of which have a dining table able to seat 6 people. The first living room also has 4 sofas, a coffee table, a side table and a colour TV. The second area has a 2 seater sofa and a large drinks cabinet. |

Bed linen, towels provided at the beginning of your stay - thereafter a maids service can be provided at additional cost for change of linen, cleaning, ironing, meals etc... requirements must be made and paid for at the time of booking. |
Notes on accommodation
The property is perfect for families with children. Although due care must be taken with young children around the pool area as it is not fenced off. Otherwise the spacious and private garden provides a perfect environment for you to relax while the kids play safely.

Accessibility
There is a downstairs bedroom and shower room but these are not specifically designed to be wheelchair accessible. We welcome people with disabilities but please discuss with us your requirements beforehand. We can then advise you as to the suitability of the property.
Outside
Casa Flamengo is an idyllic house. Set in 1300m2 of private land, it has a large beautifully maintained garden filled with wonderfully exotic fruit trees including banana, lemon, coconut and guava. It has a party size swimming pool, a barbeque area, an outdoor shower and w/c and garage space enough for 3 cars. The property backs on to a breathtaking lagoon and is a stone's throw away from the beach. It has local shops, restaurants and an internet cafe just up the road.
Coast/Beach
Take a right out of the front gate, cross one road and within 1 minute you are on Flamengo Beach. The house is situated in the heart of the beach with numerous barracas (beach huts) serving food and drinks for you to choose from. This is the most popular beach for swimmers in Salvador, famed for its calm waters. If you're feeling more adventurous you can be at the famous Praia do Forte resort beach within 50mins. Or else experience Barra Beach in the heart of Salvador city, just 35 mins away.
Golf
The Sofitel golf course is less than 15 mins from the property. It also has tennis and fitness facilities.
Special interest holidays
Swimming, fishing, walking and surfing are available right on your doorstep. Sailing, water skiing, boat hire, wind surfing, cycling, golf, tennis and a sports center are all within 15mins of the property. Climbing, flying, mountain biking, horse riding and scuba diving can all be found within 45 mins.

Further details
Manoel, our caseiro, resides on the property in his own quarters separate from the main house. He ensures 24 hr security as well as attending to the garden and all house maintenance. Astle is our management agent in Salvador. She will be responsible for the prompt delivery of the keys to Casa Flamengo on your arrival and the safe keeping of your security deposit during your stay. On your departure she will carry out an inventory check, collect the keys and return your deposit. Most Brazilians only speak Portuguese so communication can be problematic. We have employed Astle, who is multilingual; to be your main point of contact should you need urgent assistance during your stay. Although she is not a tour guide she will be happy to give advice on preferred taxi services, key attractions and the best restaurants that Salvador has to offer. There are lots of wonderful places to visit, be it off the beaten track or in the city itself. There is the most spectacular coastline to take in along Coconut Coast to the north of the city. Alternatively you can take in the many churches, museums and art galleries and shopping centres in the heart of Salvador. Salvador's eateries are generally easy on the pocket. Normally you should expect to pay about £5 to £10 a head but you can eat out for much less. Even at the very top end you will seldom pay more than £50 a head. A list of our favourite restaurants will be waiting for you at Casa Flamengo. Make sure you try out our favourite 'Pereira' in Barra. Also trying Salvador's traditional dish 'Moqueca' at the famous Yemanja restaurant is a must. There are a few numbers in the information pack of English speaking taxi drivers. Our favourite is Vilela who is very friendly but be prepared for your Portuguese lesson while travelling with him.
Booking notes
We will hold dates for no more than 5 days pending receipt of deposit of 25% total cost of holiday. Payment in full is required a full 56 days before holiday begins. On receiving the keys you will be expected to pay a security deposit. This will be returned on your departure minus any surcharges and damages.
