Bradford on Avon holiday home cottages are set in and around a Saxon town in western Wiltshire, not far from the historic city of Bath. Bradford boasts a number of historic sites, with Roman remnants found just outside the town. One of the most famous landmarks here is the lovely Norman bridge, which crosses the River Avon. There have been a handful of alterations to this structure down the centuries, one of which was the addition of a chapel, which was later used as a lockup for troublemakers. Also worth seeing if you’re visiting a Bradford on Avon guesthouse is St Laurence’s Church, one of the few unaltered examples of Saxon architecture in England. You could also take a walk from your cottage in Bradford on Avon to see the Kennet and Avon Canal.

The historic city of Bath is little more than 15 minutes from Bradford on Avon self-catering accommodation. Here you’ll discover a host of fascinating sights, from a number of different eras. You could also make the short trip here from a Bradford on Avon cottage rental to admire the wealth of Georgian architecture in Bath – such is the extent of the city’s historic importance that the entire area has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Another important sight is the world famous prehistoric monument, Stonehenge, about 45 minutes from holiday homes in Bradford on Avon.
