At Saint-Pol-de-Leon, about 30 minutes from gites in Berrien, you’ll be able to visit a stunning gothic cathedral that towers over the town. The city of Brest is also well worth exploring. Here you’ll be able to see the medieval Tanguy Tower, which overlooks a portion of the city atop a motte. Outside Brest the coastline is typically stunning, with sandy beaches, tall granite cliffs and sheltered coves all about 40 minutes from Berrien self-catering villas. Further down the west coast on Brittany is the charming town of Quimper, which sits about 45 minutes away from Berrien holiday farmhouses. Here you’ll be able to explore old cobbled streets lined with medieval half-timbered buildings. The historic fortified walls are well preserved, and there is also a centuries-old cathedral here.
