A super two bedroom front line apartment with balcony overlooking the fishermen's jetty and the Island d'en Colon. The property is situated 200m from the main beach. The unspoiled village of Es Grau is located in the Albufera National Park, the nucleus of the Menorcan Biosphere Reserve, listed by UNESCO in 1993. The village is about 10 minutes from Mahon, the capital of Menorca, and 15 minutes drive from the airport. Es Grau has one of the finest sandy beaches in the area; ideal for small children as it shelves very gently. Behind the main beach lies the Albufera Lake and bird sanctuary, which is Menorca's main refuge and stopover along the migratory route of countless sea birds. The lake abounds with fish and crustaceans. The most common of which are mullet and eels. If you are prepared to walk for 15 minutes there is a choice of another 5 or 6 beaches.

Changeover day
This is flexible. The flat will normally be ready by 1.00pm and should be vacated by 10.00am on day of departure.

All linen is supplied, and changed midway through your holiday if you are here for more than 1 week. Beach towels are NOT supplied, please bring your own. Cleaning services during your stay can be arranged on request once you are here for a small charge. |
Notes on accommodation
The flat is ideal for one or two couples, or a family of four. It is young children friendly in as much as the balcony has a solid one-meter high wall making it very safe. There is a restaurant right on the water's edge and another three bars that serve very good Tapas.
Outside
Balcony: The substantial sized balcony with a dining table and chairs receives the early morning sun, making it an ideal place for breakfast, lunch and dinner or an aperitif overlooking the fishermen's quay, the open sea and the Illa d'en Colon.
Coast/Beach
Es Grau has one of the finest sandy beaches in the area, ideal for small children as it shelves very gently. A 5 minute walk takes you to 2 other small sandy beaches, and within 15 minutes there is a choice of another 5 or 6 virgin beaches. The off-shore island, Isla d'en Colon with its 2 beautiful beaches can be easily reached by boat, as can several of the other beaches up the coast.
Golf
The one 18-hole golf course on the island, at Son Parc, is aproximatley 20 minutes drive away.
Travel
Car hire is recommended, at least for part of your holiday, but is not essential as the beaches, supermarket, restaurant and bars are all within walking distance. There is a bus service to Mahon in the season, otherwise a taxi can be called.
Distances
15 minutes drive to Mahon and 20 minutes drive to the airport.
Further details
The island of Menorca is well worth exploring if you have not visited it before. It is rich in history and archaeological sites, or if you prefer sun and sand, no other island in Spain has more beaches and coves than Menorca, there is a beach for each day of the year. The Port of Mahon is one of the finest deep-water anchorages in Europe, and there are shops, restaurants and bars all around the harbour. The old buildings of Mahon have been beautifully restored, likewise the fine Opera House. There is a twice-weekly handicrafts market, and a Music Festival throughout the summer. There is plenty of information in the apartment about events and places to go/eat etc.
Booking notes
A non-returnable deposit of £200 or the equivalent in Euros is required at the time of making the booking. The remainder to be paid 8 weeks prior to arrival. A reminder will be sent of the balance due.

Just a quick e-mail to let you know we have returned from Es Grau where we had a great time. I thought your apartment was lovely, and in a fantastic location so close to shop, bars and beach, yet not too noisy or busy. I think we all appreciated being away from the large resorts. We did hire a car though we actually didn't use it that much as Es Grau was so good.
