The house was designed for us by a well known local architect and is very much a 2nd home. We have one of the most spectacular views of any house on Cala Llonga, from La Mola and the Harbour Entrance right round to Golden Farm, or Nelson's House. At the same time we are very private and not overlooked. We have the benefit of a ring-side seat for yacht races and enjoy the wonderful sunsets for which the island is famed. The house is decorated to a high standard and has the benefit of central heating. As we face due south the winter months can be very pleasant, with lovely walks, bird watching and enjoying the island at its most peaceful. Mahon, the capital, is an attractive and lively town right through the year, with a number of musical events and many galleries.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds. The house is available for letting throughout the year. Off season the rental is negotiable for less than 4 guests. Prices quoted show lower rate for 2 guests, higher for 6 guests; if you are only 2-4 in your party, ask for reduced rental. Please check availability calendar. Change over days Mondays. Easyjet and Monarch Airlines now offer flights from Gatwick.
Now fully occupied until end of October 2008 - Bookings being taken for 2009.
Changeover day
Normally a Monday changeover, but flexible out of season. House is ready for occupation by 1pm and guests are asked to be ready to vacate by 10am on the day of departure. This is variable depending upon the arrival/departure time of guests on either side.

The house is prepared for your arrival and a weekly 'small maid service' and change of linen and bath towels is provided (please bring your own beach towels). Extra maid service is available for a small charge and babysitting can be arranged. |
Notes on accommodation
There is a tape and radio stereo player plus TV. The TV receives local and national Spanish TV, plus BBC1 and 2, 3 and 4. There is also a video player and a DVD.
Sorry, no pets allowed. We are a non-smoking family and would prefer that guests do not smoke in the house.

Outside
Terraces, enclosed outside shower, built-in barbecue and entertaining area, laundry drying area. Extended terrace in front of the bedroom wing, giving extra lounging area. The very private 31ft pool has tiled steps at the shallow end and is serviced twice per week in high season and once per week low season. The gardens are a great joy and contain a large assortment of native and other plants and trees, including mulberry, fig, palms, oleander, hibiscus and bougainvillea. Our gardener tends the garden regularly.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beach is Cala Mesquida, a deep water bay, about 10 mins by car, or Es Grau, ideal for children, 10/15 mins by car, but the Island has approximately 120 beaches to choose from.
Travel
Mahon airport is 15 minutes by car. It is a north/south runway and does not affect us at all. Monarch Airlines now have a flight from Gatwick, as well as Easyjet. A car is essential. We normally arrange car hire for you with Don Cars who have supplied cars for ourselves and our guests for 20 years.
Distances
The supermarket is about 10 min walk, they stock English papers. Nearest beach 7/8 mins by car. Cala Llonga bay now has a children's play area with climbing frames and is opposite the supermarket.
Booking notes
A deposit of 25% is required at the time of booking, with the balance 8 weeks prior to departure. Deposits not normally refundable.
