The house was built to our specification and is a much loved second home. We have one of the most spectacular views of any house on Cala Llonga, from La Mola and the Harbour Entrance right round to Golden Farm, or Nelson's House. At the same time we are very private and not overlooked. We have the benefit of a ring side seat for yacht races and enjoy the wonderful sunsets for which the island is famed. The house is decorated to a high standard and has the benefit of central heating. As we face due south the winter months can be very pleasant, with lovely walks, bird watching and enjoying the island at its most peaceful. We have the early morning sunrises and the perfect location to watch the sunsets. Mahon, the capital, is an attractive and lively town right through the year, with a number of musical events and many galleries.

Changeover day
Monday - Monday change-overs in high season, but 10 day bookings considered at this late stage. House is ready for guests by 13.00, and guests are asked to be ready to vacate by 10am on the day of departure.

Bathrooms: En-suite shower room to master bedroom with large walk-in shower, wc and handbasin. Newly refurbished.
Further full bathroom with shower over bath, wc and basin. Hair dryer.
Kitchen: Kitchen, very well equipped, granite work surfaces, gas hob and electric oven, large fridge with separate freezer compartment. Views down the Harbour. Door to laundry -
Utility Room: Laundry room with microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, sink, iron, ironing board and door to large outside laundry hanging area. Also enclosed outside shower.
Living Rooms: Sitting room with double French doors to outside covered pool terrace. Archway to dining room, leading into kitchen. Door from dining room to sunroom with double doors to pool terrace. Folding blinds on sun room windows and outside awnings,
Other: Hallway, with doors to living room, bedroom wing and also to pool terrace.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
The house is prepared for your arrival and a weekly change of linen and bath towels is provided; please either bring our own pool/beach towels or hire from our villa managers. Maid service is avail for a small charge, and babysitting can be arranged.

Notes on accommodation
There is a radio player plus TV. The TV receives local and national Spanish TV, plus BBC1 and 2, 3 and 4. There is also a video player and a DVD. Sorry, no pets allowed. As we are a non-smoking family we would prefer that guests do not smoke in the house.

Accessibility
Gently sloping driveway to front door plus set of shallow steps with hand rail

Outside
Terraces, enclosed outside shower, built-in barbecue and entertaining area, laundry drying area. Extended terrace in front of the bedroom wing, giving extra lounging area. The very private 31ft pool has tiled steps at the shallow end and is serviced twice per week in high season and once per week low season. The gardens, although modest, are a great joy and contain a large assortment of native and other plants and trees, including mulberry, fig, palms, oleander, hibiscus and bougainvillea. Our gardener tends the garden.
The pool terrace has recently been resurfaced and updated.

Coast/Beach
The nearest beach is Cala Mesquida, a deep water bay, about 10 mins by car, or Es Grau, ideal for children, 10/15 mins by car, but the Island has approximately 120 beaches to choose from.

Travel
Mahon airport is 15 minutes by car. It is a north/south runway and does not affect us at all. A car is essential. We arrange car hire for you with Don Cars who have supplied cars for ourselves and our guests for over 20 years. Their tarrif is fully inclusive, no extras when you arrive, unlike some other firms.

Distances
The supermarket is about 10 min walk, they also stock English papers. Cala Llonga bay now has a children's play area with climbing frames opposite the supermarket.

Further details
We are roughly l2 minutes from Mahon where you will find banks, shops market etc, and round the water front a good selection of cafes and restaurants and ATM's

Booking notes
A deposit of 25% is required at the time of booking, with the balance 8 weeks prior to departure. Deposits not normally refundable.
