Notes on prices
There is a cleaning charge of £120 or Euros 160 in additional to the rental charge. If you are arriving after midnight there is a surcharge of €30 as we have to pay extra to our welcoming person.

Changeover day
Flexible on changeover days whenever possible as it's often cheaper to get a non-Saturday flight and its certainly easier for car pickup. Access is from 4pm. Vacate by 10 am to allow time for changeover and cleaning.

In town of Buger with 1 minute's walk to bakery, coffee, mini-market; 5 minute drive to Sa Pobla along the back road. 15 minutes to Alcudia old town or Pollensa and about the same to the beach of Muro by driving through S'Albufeira the famous 'wetlands' bird sanctuary. 5 minutes from Campanet Only 25 minutes by car to Palma and 8 minutes to Inca where there is also a brand new Hospital in case of any emergencies. There is also an excellent modern dentistry clinic just inside the town.

Fresh produce market on Saturdays. Supermarket in Sa Pobla, Inca, 10 minutes' drive, Pollenca 15 minutes drive. Town fiesta mid-June with street entertainment. Pollenca Sunday market popular. Easy drive to mountains and visit to Deia or Lluc. Guide books available in property.

35% deposit required to secure booking which includes 160€ cleaning Balance paid one month before stay to UK or Spanish bank account. Returnable deposit of 300€ cash on arrival against breakages to be left with neighbour.

Guest comments
A first class property set in a in a small and very friendly Mallorcan village. The design of the house and layout made for a very relaxing stay. The garden is an ideal place to chill out throughout the day. The bedrooms are also incredibly relaxing. Our arrival was assisted by Ruth in helping us to settle in quickly on Saturday, a day in which there is a small market in Buger. The convenience of being in the centre of the village cannot be underestimated, it was a joy to mix with the locals. there is plenty to see and do in the immediate area or not depending on your needs. The village pool is fantastic and the sea and beaches are reasonably close.For the more able there are great walks and cycle rides throughout the local area. We shall return. Recommended for: Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway 'Loved the location, enjoyed Sa'Bufera nature reserve visits, neighbour.

About the owner
I love my 260 year old completely restored village house in Búger in northern Mallorca, one of my dreams come true. My second dream come true is being the founder of the London-based not-for-profit for microfinance and enterprise for helping the poor out of poverty. My work in Africa and UK means my visits to Mallorca are less frequent than I like. In London I am active at St Martin-in-the-Fields church, enjoy London's culture, walking, yoga and cycling and visiting my family. Friends, family & paying guests come back for more visits after sampling my Búger home's relaxing atmosphere, friendly neighbours, shops nearby Alcudia beach, Sa'bufera nature reserve, town's swimming pool in July/August and cycling.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
The house is in Búger, a lovely traditional town with friendly people, especially my neighbours. I wanted to be in a quiet location yet near amenities and able to reach the beach, Palma and friends' homes easily. Reportedly the oldest house in the town, it was derelict for 35 years when a friend & I found it. The restoration took 2 years by the town's best builder and a friend's project management, overspending our budget due to underfloor central heating, big bathrooms, antique light fittings, teak furniture. My father's ancestors were Spanish, then went to Italy, to the USA. When people hear my surname of SantaMaria, I reply 'I'm on the return trip'. My mother's were British so I have the best of both with a flat in the very centre of London and my beautiful house in Búger.

Unique benefits of the property
The location is a friendly town, the experience of real Mallorca without an excess of non-Mallorcans as in other towns. Visitors tell me of their enjoyment of the traditional with a local bakery, a quaint mini-market, a Saturday market with fresh, locally-grown produce. My investment in quality is worth it with a prime location with great views from the upstairs bedrooms and terrace and the seclusion of the patio and outdoor eating area. Here you do get to know the local people, customs and festivals, rhythm of the seasons, people looking after one another, stepping back in time and enjoying life as it comes. This atmosphere is in itself deeply relaxing and many activities:Walking, cycling in the countryside, short trip to the beach and town pool in summer, by the wood fire in winter.
