Set in a unique location on the cliffs overlooking Cala en Porter's spectacular cove with its shallow, crystal clear, turquoise water and fine white sand. Facing due south, this is a sun lovers delight. Enjoy full sun and make yourself comfortable on the sun loungers, recliners and tables and chairs. Take a siesta or dine under the shade of the sun terrace's roofed area. This terrace will quickly become the centrepiece of your stay. Located in the popular resort of Cala en Porter, the unique location means you can have privacy yet enjoy the local facilities as you wish. Local swimming pool is just 500m away and bars and restaurants are just far enough away to walk to but not to disturb you. This a superb 'chill out' location away from the ‘ordinary’. Notes on prices
Couples: we offer a reduced rate to couples (not in July and August ) - deduct £70/week from the prices. 5th guest - add £45 per week (5th person sleeps on a sofa bed in the lounge).
Changeover day
Sundays, Thursdays or Fridays usually but we can be flexible. Please ask. If your dates leave a gap of less than 7 days please don't be offended if we decline.

Notes on accommodation
We have the worlds largest wide screen from the terrace - Menorca TV. The second bedroom is set against the cliff face and benefits from natural air flows from cliff walls as does the whole place when rear windows and terrace doors are open. There are ceiling fans in the lounge and main bedroom for July/August months but the cliffs are generally cooler so air-conditioning is not needed.
Accessibility
Due to location on the cliffs with accompanying steps this place is not suitable for people with walking difficulties. The apartment is reached by an external communal staircase to just five apartments but is otherwise separate.
Outside
There a just a handful of places at Cala en Porter you can rent with this view.
There is a safety guard available that parents can place across the width of the terrace if they are worried about smaller children. Ask for details.
Coast/Beach
Cala D'en Porter is in our opinion one of the most scenic beaches and absolutely the best children's beach on the island. It's never full and it is very deep, backing onto a beautiful nature reserve - which gives you a wonderful nightly "frog chorus" against the background of the water in the bay. The water is very calm due to it being in a deep cove and the water quality is stunningly clear and extremely shallow making it warm with superb sandy bottom and superb snorkelling along the cove.
Golf
Son Parc golf course is 20 mins., drive away.
Special interest holidays
Menorca in general is a delight for those who love sun, sea and landscapes with a style of life to be enjoyed. Spring is a fabulous time to visit with vivid colours, warm sunny skies and lower flight, accommodation and restaurant prices!
Travel
Mahon airport is a 15 min drive away.Hire car is not essential. There are regularly bus services to the capital Mahon 1.60 Euro one way(2011), but the island has so much to offer I recommend a hire car which we can also arrange on your behalf from people you can trust. Taxi fare to/from airport one way is around 18 Euro (2012).
Distances
The charming historical town of Alaior is just a few kilometers away. Much better food shopping than in resort and some good restaurants with great lunch time menus.
Further details
Swimming pools, are very expensive due to the local water charges. There is a good alternative. There is a lovely swimming pool is just 10m walk away and several others within walking distance which you can use for the price of a coffee i.e. 1 Euro. Ask us for details.
Calan Porter has 4 supermarkets (2 with free delivery), a bank, Foreign Exchange, Chemist, Selection of restaurants and bars (some have swimming pools adjacent that you can use), car hire, fun house (for small children) and 2 communual play area for children.

We have known this Island for over 25 years, owned our place the entire time and still would not swap it for a big villa and pool. The view still amazes us after all these years.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
Cala en Porter beach remains one of the top beaches on the island. Its so natural ( and protected ). Even Cala Galdana has now been built up along it's cliff edges-shame.
Cala en porter is not overly large and has not sold out to Hotels offering budget price holidays and the resulting drop in resort standards.
Unique benefits of the property
The Apartment has uninterrupted frontline views over the bay and beach.
There are lovely walks via cliffs and valleys of immediate countryside to places of hidden beauty.
