At the top of the hill is Alto Mar, the premier site because of its panoramic view across the sea towards Majorca, often visible on a clear day. It is here that the apartment (K9 Alto Mar) is situated in beautifully laid out gardens with adult and children's pools for the exclusive use of residents. The resort complex (10 mins walk) has over 40 shops and restaurants available to enjoy.

Notes on accommodation
The apartment is child friendly and at the end of the row of nine apartments therefore there is plenty of landscaped garden space to enjoy around the apartment.

If you would like to hire a Cot and / or High chair please ask for hire cost.

Similarly air-conditioning / heating throughout the apartment is available at an additional cost per week.

Outside
The Balcony has just been overhauled (2011). It runs the whole length of the apartment and has a sun canopy covering the whole area if required.

There is a 4 person dining area, outside lounge (sofa area), barbeque and sun loungers with fantastic views top the beach, sea and Majorca on clear days.

Coast/Beach
Son Bou the longest beach on the island. The beach stretches for 4 km of pale golden sand lapped by clear turquoise waters. Several beach bars serve it and therefore opportunities for water sports. For the keen explorer, with well over a hundred beaches on the island, ranging from tiny coves to large stretches of sand, there are beaches to suit almost everyone on Menorca.

Golf
The keen golfer isn’t overlooked either with the 15-hole course (slowly being extended to 18) situated in the beautiful countryside 20 mins drive away. Horse riding, pony trekking and donkey safaris are also available at various establishments throughout the island.

Travel
The resort is approximately 20 mins from Mahon Airport, allowing you to be on holiday an hour after touch down. In fact since the island measures less that 50km long and 20km across you never have to travel far to get anywhere. There is a regular bus service throughout the island and driving is very easy. I would strongly recommend hiring a car and I can provide hire company details.

Distances
The nearest Menorcan Villages to Son Bou are Alaior and Mercadal, which are both 10 mins drive away and host some of the nicest restaurants on the island.

Booking notes
A non refundable booking fee is required to secure your week(s). The balance payable 10 weeks before the holiday. If the holiday is booked less than 10 weeks from its commencement, the full charge is payable. All clients are required to take out cancellation insurance. If you fail to insure or if your claim does not qualify the following applies – a) if we are unable to re-let, the moneys paid already shall be forfeit. B) If we re-let we shall refund all moneys less handling charge £50 per week.

About the owner
Well, married with a wee one Chloe and we all spend far too much time in rainy Glasgow rather than in our home away from home - Menorca. Although I have been going out to Menorca since 1977, I have been the proud owner of K9 since 1999. In 2004 I launched my own company and since then I have been focused on growing my business and have not been able to spend the time out in K9 as I had planned. However rather than having the apartment empty I like renting it a fellow Menorca lovers!

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
I was lucky enough that my parents took me out to Menorca every year since 1977 and watched all the apartment foundations being laid. I saw many apartments popping up for sale but they were not quite right until K9 came on the market. The largest balcony, 2 mins from the pool, on the end of the row which meant it had all the extra windows to the side, completely private, great views and closest to the stairs down to the restaurants, beach and bars. As soon as it came to the market I snapped it up. Since then all the money raised each year is reinvested in the apartment we have literary rebuild the apartment from the inside replacing the kitchen, electrics, bathroom, floors, windows .. oh and knocked down a couple of walls along the way!

Nick and I work hard both running our own businesses in the UK.. So K9 has everything you could think of for modern living. Open plan living, all the mod cons and views to die for as you sip on your G&T and watch the sun set over the Med.
