Playas de Fornells is a collection of small communities built in traditional Menorquin style, set in beautiful gardens with flowers and cactus, right by the coastline. Each community comprises villas and apartments and are generally privately owned. We have the added bonus of two large swimming pools (one with baby/toddler section) for the exclusive use of the community of Maremar. We enjoy a fantastic quiet location with sea views overlooking a picture postcard cove (sunbathing, swimming and snorkeling are possible from the rocks). From here you can see the lighthouse at Cavalleira.

Playas de Fornells has a very Spanish ambiance and is exceptionally attractive with no ugly buildings to spoil the continuity. It is most suitable for those who enjoy staying in a beautiful location with spectacular sea views and are looking for a peaceful relaxing holiday.
Coast/Beach
The beach of Cala Tirant is at the entrance to the village, which is a fifteen minute walk away. It comprises a small serviced sandy cove with a bar and restaurants and a further longer sandy unspoilt beach accessed via a rocky pathway. Both are excellent for swimming and are safe as they are gently sloping with soft yellow sand. Behind the main beach no buiding is allowed so it is particularly tranquil, with wide views of the countryside.
Travel
Mahon airport is a thirty minute drive away. Car hire is recommended to make full use of what the island has to offer. Public transport and taxis are available. Car and bike hire is also available in Playas de Fornells and throughout the island.
Distances
There are many beautiful unspoilt and serviced beaches in the vicinity. Further afield you can visit the larger traditional Spanish ports of Mahon and Cuitadella. Smaller local towns include Ferriers and Alayor. In summer there are many local fiestas held around the island. There are many archeological sites and caves on Menorca including the ancient ruins of the Roman port of Santiga.
