Two bedroomed apartment with balcony, built in a rustic style, overlooking the beach near the Alcudia Marina. The apartment is on the second floor and is served by a lift. There is a large communal swimming pool and smaller kiddies' pool. There are numerous bars, restaurants, shops and supermarkets close by, as well as the Hidro Park water slide complex. Alcudia old town with its Roman remains and twice weekly market is in comfortable walking distance. There are frequent bus services to Palma, Pollenca, and other parts of the island. Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds.
Children under 2 free. Cot can be supplied locally - 25 euros per week. Taxi from Palma Airport approx 73 euros (4 seat), 93 euros (5/6 seat). Plus 10 euros for pick up from midnight and Sunday. Child seats can be pre-ordered.

Changeover day
Changeover date is normally Saturday in the high season.

Bedroom 2 with twin beds with fitted wardrobe.

Bathrooms: Bathroom with bath/shower over, 2 wash basins and wc.
Kitchen: Kitchen, fully equipped with fridge/freezer, hob and oven, microwave, washing machine, iron, utensils and kitchen equipment. Crockery & cutlery for 5 settings, plus electric kettle, toaster, saucepans, glasses etc. Plenty of cupboard space.
Living Rooms: Spacious lounge with dining area. Dining table and chairs, settee which converts to double bed, two easy chairs, sideboard and coffee table. French windows lead on to balcony with patio table and chairs. Satellite TV, DVD player.
Other: Access to roof are for drying large items of clothing. Clothes dryer located on balcony.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Bed linen and towels are provided, but you will need to bring your own beach towels. The property is cleaned weekly, when bed linen and towels are also changed.

Accessibility
Lift to all upper floors, but there are three steps from lift to apartment door.

Outside
The mature, well maintained gardens in the complex are laid mainly to grass with trees to give shade. There is a gate giving direct access to the beach. There are plenty of sunloungers round the pools.

Coast/Beach
The apartments overlook the beach at Port D'Alcudia. The Bay of Alcudia has the longest beach on Mallorca, with numerous sporting facilities such as wind surfing, water skiing, para-gliding etc. Within half an hour's drive there are beaches at C'an Picafort, Porto Pollenca and Cala San Vicente. Glass bootomed boats ply regularly from the port for trips round the bay or to Pollenca and the delightful Formentor.

Golf
The new golf course at Alcanada (10 minute drive) opened in October 2003 and is a major addition to local amenities. This is the nearest thing to a links course on the island.
There is a well established and testing 9 hole course at Pollenca.
The Capdepera Course, also known as Roca Viva, is between Arta and Cala Ratjada.
Pula Golf Course, opened in 1995, is about 3Km from Capdepera.
The Canmayel course is abot 8Km from Arta. The views are excellent and it offers many challenges.

Travel
Alcudia is a 45 minute drive from Palma Airport. We can arrange for a taxi to meet you at the airport and bring you direct to the apartment. Otherwise you will need to hire a car - directions will be provided for this straightforward journey. There is limited parking on-site, and plenty of on and off street parking nearby.

Distances
Palma, with it's majestic cathedral and narrow shopping streets, is less than an hour away. The centre and north of the island is mountainous and well worth a drive. The famous Caves of Drach near Porto Cristo are more than an hour's drive but the Caves at Campanet are only about 15 minutes away.

Further details
There are local shops nearby covering all requirements as well as banks, restaurants, bars etc. A local byelaw ensures that the bars cease playing music at midnight. It is difficult to give firm recommendations for restaurants as ownership or management can change but we do have some favourites, details of which we will supply on request.

Booking notes
20% non-returnable deposit on booking, with the balance payable 8 weeks prior to departure. The whole of the balance is payable should your holiday be cancelled less than 8 weeks prior to departure.

About the owner
I live in West Sussex, UK with my husband Bob. We have three grown up children and two grandchildren. We have spent many holidays over the years with our children in the apartment in Mallorca. Our children are now taking their children to the apartment, as it is such a great place for families. Our daughter learned to swim in the kiddies' pool at Carabela and is now teaching our grandson to swim in the same pool.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
When first buying at Carabela in the north of the island it was not a destination that too many holidaymakers went to. The journey took about one and half hours from the airport at Palma, as it was through the villages on narrow roads. However, the scenery on the way was worth the journey and the beach was and is lovely, with white sand gently shelving out to sea. It now takes just 45 minutes on the recently completed motorway. The Port of Alcudia has expanded considerably over the years, but has been tastefully done. The marina which is just 200 metres away was built at the same time as Carabela, and has some very nice restaurants.

Unique benefits of the property
The apartments are in a unique location with a wonderful beach outside your window. You can sit on the balcony overlooking the beach and watch the world go by. We like the fact that you can walk to all the restaurants, bars and shops. If you want a nice restaurant there are plenty on the doorstep. If you prefer to self cater, there are a number of supermarkets you can walk to. With young children there is no trudging down roads with all the baggage they require, as you are right on the beach. The old town of Alcudia is an easy 20 minute walk and has a great market twice a week for fresh produce, leather, clothes, etc. It also has some very good restaurants.
