The property is about five miles from Mahon, the main town of the island. It is situated on the edge of a small, quiet fishing village with one local food shop (open 1 June to 30 September only), a bar with excellent Mediterranean food and a fish restaurant just outside the village which has a beautiful view over the entire area. the studio is part of a house which is 200 years old. It is situated on a cliff on a small peninsula between the village and the beach. The views are all spectacular and quite unspoilt by tourism. The sea is everywhere! The studio is of a rustic type with thick walls, it is cheerful and full of personality and has a stunning view of the bay and the fishing village, the summer home of many Menorcans. The beach is two minutes away, and is a large sandy cove which in completely unspoilt. The studio apartment is approx 60sq.m including the terrace.

Changeover is flexible. Check in is at 13.00 hours and check out at 10.00 am.

| Bedrooms: | Bedroom 1 with large twin beds, side tables, television, easy chairs, table, hanging cupboard. chest of drawers, this room is quite large and has spectacular views over the sea with its boats and the village. Door onto the terrace. |

| Living Rooms: | This is a studio flat, so the living and sleeping facilities are all in one room which is quite large. Views are spectacular. |
| Other: | Terrace: life in Menorca is lived outside, so for me this counts as another room. It has a table, chairs and a bench and has stunning views of the bay. Most of your time will be spent out here. Sun beds are available. |

Notes on accommodation
Not recommended for children due to its location, however, mine were brought up here.
Accessibility
Not suitable for wheelchair users, due to the apartments location on a cliff.
Outside
Terrace is large and includes table, 2 chairs and 2 sunbeds. Surrounding public paths and walkways. My swimming pool is the Mediterranean sea.
Coast/Beach
2 minutes down the path to the beach. 10 minutes by car to the port of Mahon. Menorca is a small island so there is pretty much coast wherever you go.
Golf
There is a golf course in Son Parc, approx 30km away.
Travel
10 minutes by car to the Port. 20 minutes by car to the airport. A rented car or vespa (or maybe a bicycle) is a good idea. You may like to visit other restaurants or a discotheque, these are some 5 miles from the accommodation. There are also many beautiful beaches all over the island. Taxis are available in Mahon. Though if you want a simple quiet holiday you have everything you need within walking distance.
Distances
The capital city of Mahon is 10 minutes by car. Local village and shop 5 minutes walk.
Further details
I shall be next door during your stay so will be on hand to advise on restaurants or other beaches or to help with anything else you need. I have lived on the island since the early 70's and know it well, I am the only English resident in the village and live here all year round, 90% of the inhabitants are Menorcans.

The location is absolutely idyllic, so close to the beach and yet so removed from coastal developments, and you have thought of everything that could be needed in a self-catering studio. Just wanted to drop you a line to say that we had a wonderful time staying in the studio and many thanks for being a perfect host (not at all obtrusive, but there when we needed anything). The studio and village lived up to all of our hopes and expectations and was as special as I felt it would be when I first laid eyes on it! Nicky and David.
This pretty studio accommodation was above our expectations, it was inviting well equipped and homely with a warm and welcoming feel, plenty of room and everything you could need for two people. It is in a very tranquil and romantic setting. Elaine and John.

About the owner
I am English and was born in the Cotswolds outside Oxford in 1943. I married a Spaniard and have two children. We lived in Barcelona, Spain. In 1974 we moved to Menorca, where Jose found he had more work as an architect. I have been here ever since, in the same house. I was divorced in 1982, from then on from time to time I have rented my house during the summer, sometimes I live in the studio and rent the house and sometimes it is vice versa. For the last few years I have worked for the local English magazine. Collecting money from our advertisers.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
This is my home of over 36 years where I was married and brought up my children. I love the sea and it surrounds me here. I walk in the hills behind the beach in the winter and I swim in the summer. I like the local people, they are quiet and reserved but warm and kind. The local town is small and safe. It has a very beautiful port with many small cafes and restaurants and of course masses of boats.
Unique benefits of the property
This is a most unusual property. It is old and the walls are thick, which keeps it cool, it is situated by the sea. There in a defence tower which I also own next to the house. It was built by the British when they occupied the island in 1799. The views everywhere are simply stunning. I walk to the beach down a path, it takes 3 or 4 minutes. I swim a great deal in the summer. I can walk to the village to the local shop or I can take my car to the main town of the island only 10 minutes away. I am not surrounded by night clubs! There are no hotels in the village. Most of the occupants of the village come from Menorca, they are families who have their summer homes here. There are very few houses to rent in the village and almost none on sale! For me this is a very special place.
