Notes on accommodation
A baby gates is provided for use at the top of the internal stairs. No smoking inside the apartment please. No pets.
Accessibility
Not suitable for wheelchair uses or those with mobility problems as the property is accessed via 2 set of steps, also the property is on 2 floors.
Outside
There are 2 swimming pools (1 for the sole use of adults and very young children only)and a children's splash pool, these are surrounded by large sunbathing terraces, sunbeds are provided by us and are kept by the poolside, cushions are kept in the apartment. The complex is accessed by locked entrance gates making it very secure. Designated underground parking.
Coast/Beach
Menorca has more beaches than all the other Balearic islands put together! Although Es Castell does not have a sandy beach, a 10 minute walk takes you to Cala Padera, a small rocky inlet from which bathing off the rocks is really nice. Es Castell is well placed and is within a 10/15 minute drive to many beautiful sandy resort beaches, plus many beautiful secluded ones too!
Golf
Son Parc Golf Course is approximately 30 minutes drive from the apartment and offers beautiful courses for the dedicated golfer, plus instruction for beginners.
Special interest holidays
Local activities include diving, sailing, fishing, wind surfing, horse riding, walking.
Travel
Es Castell is a 15 minute drive from Mahon airport by car. Taxis are available at the airport if you do not wish to hire a car. The buses on the island are mostly on time and reach most places in season. There is also a water taxi on the harbour at Calas Fonts, along with glass bottomed boats which can take you into Mahon by water.
Distances
Small supermarket, 2 minute walk. Large 'out-of-town' supermarkets, 10 minutes drive. Bars, 2 to 10 minute walk. Restaurant 2 to 10 minute walk. Beaches, 5 minute walk or 10 to 30 minute drive. Buses, 10 minute walk. Airport, 15 minute drive. Mahon, 5 minute drive. Ciudadella, 45 minute drive.
Booking notes
A non-refundable deposit of 25% is taken upon booking and the balance is due no later than 10 weeks before the start of the holiday. A returnable deposit of £100 is required to be paid with the balance of the holiday, this is held by the owners as security against return of keys, breakages or excess cleaning costs.

About the owner
After many years looking for our dream home in Menorca we finally found it on October 2009. Prior to that we were very frequent visitors to the island. The diversity of the island is a joy to behold, our son who is eleven, loves to look for crabs on the rocks at Alcafur, he also plays cricket during the summer when we visit at the islands cricket club. My husband paints in his spare time and the apartment is home to many of his works.
