A pretty, comfortable apartment situated on the level promenade on the seafront in Puerto Pollensa at the start of the renowned Pine Walk. The outlook from the sitting room/balcony is bright and open, with stunning views across the bay of Pollensa. Two good-sized bedrooms are quietly situated at the back of the apartment. The whole apartment is completely double glazed. There is also access to a communal roof, which has a stunning 360º view across Puerto Pollensa and Tramuntana mountain range. All the facilities and restaurants of the Port are within an easy walk. Taxis and buses are close by and allow easy access to other towns close by.

Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday. Depart apartment by 10am with entry after 2pm.

Notes on accommodation
The accommodation is safe for children. The balcony balustrade is lined and therefore safe.
Accessibility
There is lift access to 2nd floor for people with mobility problems. On the ground floor there is space to store and charge mobility scooters. However, the apartment is not suitable for people confined to wheelchairs.

Coast/Beach
The sandy beaches of Puerto Pollensa are outside the front door of Edificio Tonia. They slope gently into the sea, which rarely gets too rough for swimming. As the promenade is pedestrianised, the beach area is extremely safe for young children. Sunbeds with sunshades are available to hire daily. An easy walk away is the port, where boats can be hired, and a sail/windsurf school, beach volleyball court. Scuba diving is available at various locations.
Golf
There is a 9 hole golf course at Pollensa approx 10km and an 18 hole course on the other side of the bay of Pollensa at Aucanada approx 15km.
Travel
Son Juan (airport) is about 65km away on the outskirts of Palma. The journey to the Port takes about 1 hour. Taxis are always available at the airport as are all the main car hire companies. Alternatively there is a daily coach transfer service from the airport to the Port via Alcudia.
Distances
Palma is easily reached mainly by motorway. Pollensa is a 10 minute car drive. Formentor, famous for its tranquil bay and celebrated hotel, is 15 minutes away by car over the top on the Tramuntana range. From Alcudia 10 mins by car, there is a daily foot passenger ferry service to Cuitadella (a beautiful Port) in Menorca.
Further details
There is a wide variety of restaurants in the Port, many in the back streets which offer a lunchtime menu del dia for a very reasonable price (usually at 10 euros). At the other end of the scale are a number of restaurants that offer a very good quality menu in waterside settings but charge accordingly. Recommendations are available for restaurants in Port, Pollensa, Alcudia and Palma. Most staff in restaurants speak basic English.
The supermarkets vary immensely in price. The ones on seafront are expensive compared to supermarkets in the centre of the town. There is a local sports centre (poliesportiu) with an indoor swimming pool and 2 tennis courts.
On Wednesdays, there is an extensive market in the centre of the Port where fresh produce is available as well as clothing, jewellery, flowers, leather goods and arts and crafts. A similar market is held weekly in Pollensa main square on Sundays.
Most banks are open until 2pm and offer currency exchange but the rates do differ. A variety of activities and sports are available locally in and out of season including bird-watching, walking/hiking, canoeing, tennis and padel, cycling, mountain climbing and microlighting.

Booking is agreed with the owner of the property. A deposit of 50% is payable to reserve the weeks required and the balance payable on arrival.

About the owner
Mick and Sue Cadwell. We are an English couple who decided to try our luck in the sun at the end of the 1990s. As our children were very tiny still, we put life in England on hold for a six-month trial period and moved to Mallorca in May 2000. We loved it so much that we never went back!
Now, nearly 11 years on, our children are more Mallorcan than English and are educated in the local secondary school. Our business is property redevelopment both for ourselves and property owners in the North of the island.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We already owned a one bedroomed apartment in the same block and knew that the building and it's position on the seafront was very popular with holidaymakers. The chance to upgrade to 2 bedrooms with sea views was too good to miss.
The layout of the accommodation also appealed as the bedrooms are at the back of the apartment and the living area occupies the whole front on the seaward side.
The situation at the start of the famous 'Pine Walk' is also a great plus. It is a 10 minute, level walk to the Illa d'Or Hotel at the end of the Pine Walk for sundowners on a gorgeous early evening or, in the other direction, extends the Promenade and seafront with all the facilities of the Port within easy walking distance.
