Our private villa is set in the rural countryside of Menorca with beautiful panoramic views of S’Albufera Natural Parc. The gardens are secluded and blend beautifully with their surroundings of wild olive trees and other indigenous plants. The private pool is approx 5x10 and has ample sunbathing space. The rear terrace is perfect for catching a gentle breeze when the temperatures soar in the height of the season or for finding a quiet spot. The villa is built on a single level, making it ideal for people who have difficulty with stairs, with traditional marble floors and vaulted ceilings, to keep it cool in summer. The spacious kitchen/diner offers an excellent range of equipment for the keen cook. Coast/Beach
The picturesque fishing village Es Grau is our nearest beach, only a 5 minutes drive from the villa. The lake on S’Albufera is part of the Es Grau Biosphere Reserve which was created in 1995 to conserve the habitat, flora and fauna of the area.
There is also a charming local beach, ten minutes drive from the villa called Cala Mesquida.
Golf
Son Parc golf course is only 20 minutes drive from the villa.

Travel
By air - Mahon international airport is the only airport on the island and is only a 20 minute drive from the villa.
By boat – The port is a 15 minute drive to the villa. The ferry, from mainland Spain, comes from Barcelona. You can also catch the ferry to the other Balearic Islands.
Trains – There are no trains on the island
Bus – There are bus services to all major resort.
Taxi – Taxis are available.

Es Grau beach is only a 5 minute drive from the villa and has a well stocked local spar shop. There are many supermarkets in Mahon, 15 minutes by car. For places of interest and more information go to our website.
Further details
Es Grau, a picturesque local fishing village is a 5 minute drive from the villa. This beach is very suitable for young children. Here you can get great tapas by the sea, there is also a local mini supermarket.
Booking notes
Once you have decided to go ahead and book we will send you a booking form.
We will then hold your chosen weeks for one week in order to give you time to book your flights and car hire. During this week confirm your booking by returning the booking form and a non-refundable 20% deposit. The remainder of your payment will be due no later than eight weeks before your departure date. About the owner
Our father built the villa over 30 years ago, designing it as a family holiday home. He wanted a home from home to relax and switch off from his busy business life. We would spend the whole summer at the villa, family members would come and stay, and friends would rent other villas on S’Albufera. Every year our parents would hold a big fancy dress party for friends, family and our Menorcan friends from Es Grau. The villa has now been passed down to us, the next generation and we cherish the responsibility of taking care of our beautiful family villa. We have recently renovated the villa and its grounds. We continue to develop what is already a creative space, our intention being to improve our much loved retreat for enjoying the summer season and opening up opportunities for the winter.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
S’Albufera is a designated area of natural beauty. We work with the environmental organisations of Menorca and the bird watching community to maintain the beautiful and peaceful landscapes you see around you today. There are walks and nature trails to enjoy.
The lake is clean and serene, supporting many rare birds and wildlife. In the winter osprey and booted eagles migrate to the lake, the spring and autumn sees home to waders and wildfowl. Other species often seen are herons, and you may spot tortoise, toads and snakes. My mother saw Flamingo one year and my brother a golden eagle!
Unique benefits of the property
Our villa is virtually all on one level, which makes it much easier when you've had too much Rioja to negotiate your way back to bed and if your 92 year old grandmother is on holiday with you she will appreciate the lack of steps & stairs, as ours always did! Really special attractions of staying at our villa for me are the views, both from the back looking out to the farmland and the front over S’Albufera Natural Parc where we will often see various birds of prey. It is tranquil & peaceful but not always quiet because the wild life can be surprisingly noisy at times, my sister particularly loves the frog chorus in spring & autumn.
