Notes on accommodation
Villa has ceiling fans and air conditioning hot/cold air. Car space at side of property. Totally private position south facing sun all day long with canopy under terrace.
Accessibility
The property has 5 steps therefore ideal for people with partial disability no stairs inside property.

Coast/Beach
Beach 10 minute walk (train in the season to and from!). Driving max 5 minutes. Beautiful sandy beach with facilities.
Menorca is renowned for its beautiful beaches on the south coast. The north coast also has many secluded beaches and boat trips are available in the season for all day excursions.
Golf
Golf courses one in Son Parc approximately 30 minutes drive.
Travel
Airport is 5 minutes drive from Calan Porter. Car hire is not essential regular bus service during the summer to all major resorts and towns, but advisable if one wishes to explore the island in their own time and leisure
Distances
Village 5 minute walk from villa which has a varied selection of shops, bars and restaurants. Mahon the capital is about 12 minute drive with beautiful largest, deepest port in the mediteranian, with fantastic restuarants and bars situated alongside. Citudella, the old capital is worth a visit, full of history, excellent shops and restaurants, approx 40 minute drive. Es Grau is well worth a visit being an old fishing village and listed as National Park area with beautiful beach and walks.
Further details
Cala en Porter has ample supermarkets, bars and restaurants, but every village/town is full of typical Spanish cuisine and menu of the day which is excellent value.
Mahon has banks and many shops including perfumeries, leather goods are excellent quality in Menorca and very good value. There are leather factories on the main road from Mahon to Citudella which are open during the season and well worth a visit. Fornells is another fishing village on the north coast, very sleepy with excellent restaurants, one of which the King of Spain frequents! Menorca specialises in scuba diving due to the fantastic turquoise seas. There is something for everyone in Menorca, those searching peace and tranquility or wanting a varied nightlife. The caves in Cala en Porter is the well known disco in the caves, opens late and finishes in the early hours. It is also open in the day time with spectacular views.

About the owner
I have lived on the beautiful island of Menorca for 7 years after moving from England with my now 18 year old daughter. I had been coming on holiday for 15 years prior to making the decision to move after falling in love with the tranquility and way of life in Menorca. The beautiful scenery and beaches and greenery which is not dislike the Lake District where I originate from. There is so much to do in Menorca or as little, as you prefer. It is steeped in history and despite being one of the smaller of the Balaeric Islands has so much to offer.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
I bought my property in Cala en Porter as after viewing many properties adore the privacy and the advantage of being in a "village" which has a regular bus stop into the capital Mahon which then has routes all over the island.
Unique benefits of the property
I love the simplicity of the villa, having the sun throughout the day (south facing) being able to eat outside. The swimming pool is larger than average and totally private and therefore if not visiting the other beautiful places on the island is idylic for spending days around the pool and having a barbeque area.
The villa is conveniently situated close to the village, yet remote enough not to be disturbed by the noise as in the central area therefore can guarantee a good nights sleep, ideal if having children and not being disturbed. There is a regular bus service if not hiring a car which goes into Mahon and onto the other scenic beaches and little villages where there are many restaurants/cafes and bars. Cala en Porter enjoys many restaurants in the season just a 10 min walk away.
