Situated between Ibiza Town and Santa Eularia, with sweeping views over the islands mountains, the villa sleeps 8 people and comprises of 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms (2 en-suite), an open plan living area which opens out onto a courtyard with pool and dining terrace. There is a sunbathing terraces which gets full sun from 11am until sunset and a rooftop chill-out area where you can enjoy the breathtaking sunsets while sipping a cocktail. If you are looking to get away from it all, the villa is in a very private peaceful location. But for those who wish to visit the Islands many nightspots it is within 10 - 20 minutes drive of Ibiza and San Antonio. The villa is furnished in a modern contemporary style and the pool, terraces and living areas have been refurbished to a very high standard.

Notes on accommodation
The villa is no-smoking, smoking on the terrace and balconies is permitted. Adult groups please note this villa is not suited for parties or loud music as the villa is located in an urbanisation.

Accessibility
Villa is built on the side of a hill and therefore has steps to access the property and steps inside between the various levels. There are approximately 20 steps from the road to the front door. The property is not suitable for the elderly or infirm.

Outside
The villa is accessed from the road by steps which pass the terraced garden to the entrance. The house has several decked terraces and outside areas for dining, sunbathing and relaxing. The lower decked terrace has a dining table for 8 people, 2 modern high quality sun-loungers and 2 matching chairs. This terrace is surrounded by the islands pine trees. A perfect way to spend the late afternoon is lying on the sun loungers with a glass of rose, listening to the birds as they fly between the trees. Also on the lower terrace is a secluded riad style courtyard which contains the pool and a modern day bed. Steps lead to the upper decked terrace which is primarily for sun bathing with 4 high quality single loungers, and gets full sun from later morning until sunset. Steps lead to the decked chill-out area with BBQ and lounging seats for 8 people. Perfect for evening cocktails while watching the sun set, or an evening under the stars or BBQ.

Coast/Beach
Cala Llonga is 15 minutes walk/2 minutes drive. Perfect for children. Talamanca is 10-15 minutes drive, great for dining and people watching. Cala Jondal/Blue Marlin is 20 minutes drive, A-list hangout. Salinas/Es Cavallet are 20 minutes drive, the hippest beach on the island? Playa d'en Bossa is 15 minutes drive, party time! Benirras is 20 minutes drive, chill out with the hippies. Formentera is 30 minutes by boat from Cala Llonga or Ibiza Town.

Travel
The villa is 15 minutes drive for the airport. On arrival you will be met by someone to take you to the villa but you will need your own transport from the airport. If you need help organising transport please let us know. Car or scooter hire is recommended for Ibiza as many of the restaurants are in the countryside, and the beaches can only be reached by car / scooter. Ibiza is served by all the known car hire companies, but cheap options can be found at BalearicRentACar and AmigoAutos.

Nearby villages: Jesus (10 minute drive) and Santa Gertrudis (15 minute drive), both with plenty of restaurants. Ibiza is well known for its nightlife but unlike many other party resorts, it boasts the old city of Dalt Vila with it's maze of steep narrow streets. As the sun begins to set, the street markets & cafés burst to life & Ibiza’s exhibitionists take to the streets to prance, cavort & entertain.
Ibiza has more than 80 beaches; some are elusive & unspoilt, such as Cala des Multons, while others such as Cala Llonga offer shallow waters perfect for families. Whether you are looking for a long sandy beach or a hidden cove, Ibiza has something for you. The north of Ibiza is stunning with unblemished acres of lemon & olive groves, green hillsides & rugged cliffs. Farmers still use ancient terracing to cultivate their crops & irrigation techniques introduced by the Arabs over a 1000 years ago. Ibiza's climate make it a great holiday destination at any time of year: warm days in winter; the explosion of almond blossom in spring; beaches & parties in summer; warm sea & cooler evenings in autumn.

Payments: At time of booking: 50% of the rental fee. 4 weeks prior to arrival: Remaining 50% to be paid, plus a 1,000 euro security deposit, in case of damages and/or breakages. This will be refunded within 7 days of guests departure subject to satisfactory property inspection. All payments accepted by bank transfer. About the owner
We have been coming to Ibiza for many years, and over that time fell in love with everything Ibiza has to offer, from the serenity of the north of the island, the stylish beaches of the south, the nightlife, and the Spanish lifestyle. So back in 2007 we decided to buy our own place and bought a house that was at the time called Villa Doris. Since then we have started a program of refurbishment, with the aim of taking a very old fashioned 'Doris' to a sleek modern contemporary 'Can Shiro', which can not only be our winter home but also a place where people can come and fall in love with Ibiza like we did.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We chose 'Doris' because the views are simply put: spectacular. And the sunsets are breathtaking and visible from every part of the house. Being built on the side of the hill, the terraces are surrounded by the islands ubiquitous pine trees you feel part of nature with the breeze blowing through the pine trees and the birds flying between them. So after a day at the beach, or a night in one of the clubs, there is nothing better than relaxing on one of the terraces with a glass of wine.

Unique benefits of the property
As far as we are concerned the villa is in the perfect location. You can reach most parts of the island in 30 minutes, and are only a 15 minute drive from the hub of Ibiza: Ibiza Town. We also wanted somewhere with facilities and security - most Finca's are very remote and have generators for electricity, septic tanks and water delivered by truck. Their remoteness also makes them less easy to access (dusty caminos) and less secure. So we chose a villa which is in an urbanisation - which provides mains electricity, mains water, street lighting - but the fact the villa is built on the side of a hill and is the 2nd highest in the urbanisation makes it feel very secluded. And the view the Formentera as you drive up the hill always reminds me why we bought 'Doris'!!
