Our beautiful home in Mallorca

Our beautiful home is located in a small private community. Many of our Spanish, German and British neighbours live here permanently. The apartment is lovingly furnished throughout. It consists of 2 bedrooms, a large open plan living room and kitchen and our favourite part, the glorious terrace overlooking the Spanish hillsides. It is fully fitted with all mod cons and our intention was to only occasionally rent it to friends. However we are in Canada for the next 2 years, which means you will be able to enjoy this glorious place. Directly in front of our home is one of the main reasons we bought the apartment, the wonderful pool. It is a superb 20m shaped oasis, which our children just love. This is not the Mallorca of loud parties and endless bars, it is an opportunity to relax, enjoy time with the family at either the nearby beaches or the pool and a great location to get out and explore the stunning local scenery and sights. We are sure you will have a wonderful time.

| Bedrooms: |
Both bedrooms are spacious with fitted wardrobes and air-con. The master bedroom has a king size bed, VCR TV and patio door to terrace. Bedroom 2 is the same size with two single beds. All windows/patio doors have shutters to block the morning sun light. |
| Bathrooms: |
The white tiled bathroom has a power shower over the bath, wc and bidet. |
| Kitchen: |
Full size appliances including fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, oven, hob, extractor and microwave. All crockery etc supplied and utensils suitable for young children. A round wooden table seats 4, but we normally prefer to eat out on the terrace. |
| Utility Room: |
A separate utility room room has a washing machine, spin dryer, iron, ironing board and soak sink. There are also beach items and children’s toys, sun shade, and ample storage space for bottled water etc. |
| Living Rooms: |
The living room is open plan to the kitchen. It is tastefully decorated (we hope), with a large comfortable sofa bed and coffee table. The cable TV is mainly German and Spanish programs. A smaller VCR TV in the master bedroom with lots of kid's videos. |
| Other: |
For us the best part of our home is the large terrace. Surrounded by beautiful garden, overlooking the pool and Spanish hillsides; the ideal place to relax, dine alfresco or just watch the sun go down. Private parking is available next to apartment. |
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service: |
Fresh washed towels and bedroom linen will be provided. Beach towels however are not included. The maid service is weekly, but additional service can be arranged. |
Notes on accommodation
This is a relaxed privately owned complex, in which the owners all take great pride. The mix of permanent and visiting holiday makers works well and you will no doubt enjoy the comfortable atmosphere. Our apartment is especially suitable for families with children (ours are 5 and 7). Steps from the terrace lead to the pool, which also has a shallow play area for toddlers.
The property is only a few years old, but we recently redecorated (before we knew we would end up in Canada for a few years). We will post some updated pictures of the interior once friends stay at the end of May. The floor is tiled throughout, which keeps it cool in summer and importantly allows easy sweeping (as it all Mediterranean homes, if you leave crumbs the ants will arrive to cart them off).
If you wish to chill out in a luxurious place with superb views, pool and easy access to beautiful beaches, you have found the right apartment to choose.

Accessibility
You can drive right up to the property. It is suitable for individuals with mobility problems, but wheelchair access to the pool would require a 200m detour around the complex.
Outside
The wonderful terrace is detailed above. It is surrounded by flowered garden and hedge. Sun loungers, patio furniture and Weber kettle barbecue are all provided. The shaped 20m swimming pool is shared, but rarely busy and also has the shallow children's pool. Outside the complex the Balearic Islands are a place of contrasts, where you can relax, party or shop to you drop. Our home is on the quiet east side of this beautiful island, but everything is less than an hour by car. You can enjoy stunning beaches, nearby golf, picture perfect towns and villages, lively outdoor summer festivals or travel to Palma for a cultural overload and the opportunity to endlessly shop.
Coast/Beach
Although Cala Anguila beach is less than 500m away, we still normally drive. There is a small car park there and driving makes carrying all the beach gear so much easier. The stunning beach (pictured) is marvelous and consists of a small sheltered cove with clean soft sand. It means the kids can run and play, but you can always keep an eye on them. The beach offers fantastic family fun, in a safe environment, but without the candy floss and arcades of some of the big resorts on the Island.
Golf
Many top quality golf courses are within 20 minutes. Please email for more information.
Travel
Palma airport is 40 mins drive on very good roads (mostly dual carriageway). Car hire is not essential, as the beaches, shops and local restaurants are all within easy walking distance, however I would always recommend hiring a car, if you want to make the most of your stay. Car hire can be as cheap as £15 per day, all inclusive. Details will be sent if you are interested. Local buses and a tourist train (bus) reguarly pass outside the complex on their way to Porto Cristo and surrounding towns.
Distances
The beautiful Spanish town of Porto Cristo is 2km away. It has a beach and marina, but seems to have escaped the over commercialization of other Mallorcan resorts. The famous Coves del Drac are slightly closer on the edge of the town and well worth a visit. Travel further along the coast in either direction for more lovely towns or go inland to experience the real Mallorca.
Further details
The nearby coast boasts 3 stunning beaches. Cala Anguila beach, detailed above, is not visible from the road and so is a real hidden treasure.
A second beach is 5 mins walk further on to Cala Mandia. It is again a beautiful beach and home to the nearest hotel to our apartment. It is smart 4*, with a mainly all-inclusive clientele. However it accepts outside guests, but apart from the children’s disco, we rarely visit it. The surrounding village hosts a number of tourist focused shops and restaurants.
The 3rd beach is at Cala Romantica. All three beaches provide sun beds and shades for hire, with restaurant on the beach. Collectively they make a very enjoyable walk along the coastline with some spectacular views.
Manacor, the islands second largest town is 20 mins drive away. Although from afar it is not the prettiest town, it has a nice old town to stroll around and is internationally famed for the manufacture of Majorcan pearls.
There are several excellent villages to visit, which are particularly enjoyable on market days or during the summer festival periods.
Palma centre is just 45 mins away. It is an amazing Island capital city, rich in history and yet extremely cosmopolitan. If you stay on the Island for long, it is well worth a visit.
We must emphasise that this is our home in Spain. We have lovingly cared for it and we hope you will appreciate the wonderful ambiance. Please note therefore that this apartment is not appropriate for 18-30 groups or for parties; we have wonderful neighbours and we intend to enjoy their company when we live there ourselves. If you are looking for a boisterous holiday, may we recommend the faster pace of Magaluf or Palma Nova on the other side of the Island. We wish you a wonderful stay in Mallorca.
Booking notes
We are sure you will be extremely pleased with your choice of holiday location. A 20% deposit is required for all bookings and full payment is required 8 weeks before departure. We would prefer not to have smokers in our home, but understand that you may have a family member who transgresses! We strongly request that smokers do so out of our home. Thank you.
If there is no availability for your preferred dates I can put you in touch with other owners with similar properties in the area.
Guest comments
As stated before we never intended to rent out our wonderful apartment. Our friends who have stayed however have been most impressed and loved every moment there; we hope you will too.
