Changeover day
Friday changeover day. The villa is accessible at 1:00pm on your day of arrival and must be vacated by 10:00am on your day of departure.

Bedroom/playroom 4 (upstairs) with double sofa bed. Access to this room is via an outdoor staircase leading from the terrace.
Bathrooms: En-suite shower room to main bedroom (wc/basin and unit).
Second shower room (wc/basin and unit).
Both ceiling to floor tiled with bathroom cabinets and their own water heaters.
Kitchen: Gallery kitchen: fully equipped with electric oven, extractor hood, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, American style fridge-freezer. Matching crockery, glasses, utensils and everything else you would have at home (kettle, toaster etc). Food larder.
Utility Room: Separate utility room with washing machine and clothes-line drying courtyard. This room also houses beach bags, beach mats, beach umbrellas, child's buggy, beach UV proof cabana, kites etc - all for your use.
Living Rooms: Open plan living room and dining room. Living room has large TV with Sky, video player (and numerous family videos), DVD, music system (plus CDs), wireless broadband (if you want to bring a lap top). Dining room with large, heavy wooden table seating 8.
Other: Large covered terrace - with 6 seater teak dining table, sun awning, roll down 'marquee' blinds. It's like an outdoor living room overlooking the pool and BBQ.
Bedroom 4 can also be used as a playroom/sitting room and has a cupboard full of family games.

linen/maid service:
All linen and towels are provided (including swimming towels). Villa will have been cleaned and beds made upon your arrival. One set of linen and towels are provided per person, per week. Interim clean and linen change at the end of each rental week.

Amenities/facilities provided: English speaking managing agent takes care of all aspects of the villa, pool and garden. Accessibility
Access to the property is through a secure gate and down a set of tiled steps. Completely secure for children as the property is surrounded by hedges and walls. Not suitable for wheelchairs.

Outside
Small but immaculate Mediterranean garden with palms, olive trees, cacti and most notably - the world's most prolific lemon tree! The property is completely surrounded by hedges which provide excellent privacy. Accessible only through the self locking gate from the road, so children are completely safe. Covered terrace (with teak table and chairs) overlooking a 10m private pool. Outdoor pool shower, further outdoor table (seating 8) with wind up parasol. Garden loungers with cushions. Cushioned seating area around the pool. Outdoor, built in Menorcan barbecue with chimney, tiled seating and food preparation area with ceramic sink. The pool and garden will be maintained once or twice weekly during your stay.

Coast/Beach
Punta Prima beach is a 4 minute walk from the villa and considered one of the best on the island: Wide, with golden 'sand castle' sand and shallow for a long way out, so safe for children. The rock pools on either side are perfect for paddling with fishing nets. Sunbed, parasol and pedalo hire. Lined with restaurants and shops. There are over 100 beaches in Menorca and even in high season, you can find one to yourselves. (All of Menorca is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.)

Golf
18 hole golf course at Son Parc which is a 20 minute drive from the villa.

Travel
Mahon airport is an easy 15 minute drive. Directions and recommended car hire firms are provided. The airport has car hire and a taxi rank. Car hire is not essential, due to the villa's proximity to resort amenities, but would greatly enhance your stay as there are so many wonderful places to visit. Punta Prima is well served by buses and we have a local 'taxi man'. A road train goes from Punta Prima to neighbouring beaches.

Distances
Menorca is only 50km long and 20km wide, so days out are easy. The capital (Mahon) is 6km away for shopping, sightseeing, markets, boat trips and the beautiful port, which is the second deepest natural harbour in the world, after Pearl Harbor. The nearest town (Sant Lluis) is 4km for restaurants, cafes, banks and a large hypermarket.

Beach Front (4 minute walk from the villa) - 3 supermarkets, about 8 restaurants (open from breakfast 'till late), souvenir shops, ATM machine, money exchange, car rental, 7 day chemist, 24 hour doctors' surgery, play park, markets.

Nearest Town - Sant Lluis (5 min drive from the villa) has English speaking banks, restaurants, cafes, chemist, hardware store, petrol station and a large hypermarket.

Other Menorcan Activities - all watersports, trotting races, waterpark, bowling alleys, go-carting, museums, clothes/fish/vegetable markets, exclusive boutiques, factory outlet shops (leather goods, shoes, pottery and jewellery), horse riding, equestrian shows, golf, tennis, hundreds of fabulous restaurants and numerous archaeological sights.

About the owner
Ten years ago, on our first visit to Menorca, I was driving through Sant Lluis and got held up in traffic. When I leaned out the window to see what was causing the jam, I saw that the driver of a car some way ahead had stopped to chat with a friend on the pavement. No one was hooting, everyone just waited. At that moment, I 'got' Menorca. Perhaps, long ago all of Europe was like this. I found this relaxed, laid back approach to life infectious and soon ended up buying a property. I love it here and can't get out often enough.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
Punta Prima is the oldest resort in Menorca. It's easy to see why. It has one of the finest beaches on the island yet is only a ten minute drive from the capital, Mahon. Unlike some resorts, which are like ghost towns in the winter, Punta Prima has lots of year-round residents. The restaurants and shops have the same faces working there year after year and so it feels like a community, not faceless seaside tourist trap.

Unique benefits of the property
Many villas in Menorca lack privacy. The Spanish are quite happy to splash about in the their front garden pools, with no screening from the road. So it's quite unusual to find a villa that's screened on all sides by tall hedges. The villa is very much our 'home from home' and it's the one thing all our guests tend to comment on. Everything you need is in walking distance. Oh, and in the summer, you'll welcome our huge covered terrace. OK, you're coming for the sun, but come mid-afternoon, you'll be thankful for some shade!
