Roof terrace
|
|
The covered patio to the front is ideal for relaxing and eating at any time of the day and the roof terrace is perfect for sunbathing or watching the sunset over the ocean. There is also a small secluded garden at the back. Just a short walk to the sea, several supermarkets, bars and restaurants, a pool and a scuba diving centre. The large, gently shelving beach at Cala’n Bosch has soft sand and clear turquoise water, a little further on is the longer Son Xoriguer beach where there are water sports available. At the centre of Cala’n Bosch is the marina, surrounded by bars and restaurants, which is full of life at night. The historic town of Ciutadella is very close (about 10 minutes drive) and has many shops, market stalls, cafés set around some quiet and some bustling squares, a picturesque port lined with restaurants, and clubs that are open into the early hours.

The villa is set in well kept communal gardens which has lighting along the paths at night.
Golf
There is only one course in Menorca at Son Parc which is around 45 minutes drive. The course has quite recently been extended to 18 holes and is both challenging and picturesque. Green fees are very reasonable and can be as little as 40 euros in low season.
Special interest holidays
Sailing courses/yacht charter/day sails - Menorca Sailing are based in Mahon and offer RYA courses or charters. For the very best possible rates please let us know what you are looking for and we can put you in contact with them.
Travel
Mahon airport is around 45 minutes drive away but do leave extra time to get back to the airport at busy times, especially Fridays. Both Mahon and Ciutadella have ferry ports where services run to Palma, Ibiza, Valencia and Barcelona. The island’s bus network is very efficient and by using them you can travel to all the places of interest on the island. If you require any advice on flights from the UK we will be happy to assist if we can.
Distances
Cap d’Artrutx and Cala’n Bosch are on the south west tip of Menorca. 10 minutes drive from Ciutadella and 45 minutes from Mahon. A car is advisable but there are plenty of shops, restaurants and bars within walking distance and the bus service into Ciutadella and to other resorts is very efficient and comfortable. As rough estimate, the cost of a taxi from the airport is approximately 60 euros (one way).
Further details
You are never more than an hour drive from anywhere on the island and there is only one main road running the breadth of the island, so finding your way around is very easy. Car hire is recommended as it will enable you not only to see all the wonderful sights and variations of the north and south of the island, but also to go to the unspoilt beaches which are away from the tourist areas. The nearest of these are the two beaches at Son Saura, about 20 minutes drive away and well worth getting the car dusty for! Nature lovers and walkers will find the 45 minute drive to Es Grau well worth the trip. Menorca has been declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, as a result a great deal of effort is made to help protect the environment. Within a few minutes of Géminis is Son Olivaret Marina, for a short walk or a longer ramble all the way to Cala Blanca. The northern coast of the island has some breathtaking views, the south has the most beautiful beaches. Menorca also has a large number of prehistoric sites if that is your area of interest. It is also very proud of its many lighthouses. All in all Menorca provides the perfect backdrop for your holiday, however you prefer to spend it. Safe and friendly, it is ideal for families and couples, for trying sporting activities, nature rambles, gazing at the power of the ocean, joining in the many island fiestas or simply laying around on a beautiful beach, relaxing with your favourite chilled drink and doing absolutely nothing!
Booking notes
We will require a non-refundable deposit of £100 per week on booking and the final balance must be paid 6 weeks before arrival at the villa (or immediately on late bookings). We will also require a £75 deposit, added to the final payment, refundable after your stay provided there are no breakages.
