Casa Merdeka is our beautifully renovated and luxuriously furnished 18th Century farmhouse home. It is situated in one of Menorca's large, ecologically protected areas so is totally private and very peaceful, yet the shops, restaurants and the harbour at Mahon can be reached in 10 minutes. The sheltered fishing village of Es Grao with its safe sandy beach is 7 minutes away. The Cottage is totally separate and secluded and has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and its own private pool.

It is approached via its own driveway. Master suite with king sized double bed, en-suite dressing room and shower room. This bedroom opens directly onto the swimming pool terrace. 2 further twin bedded rooms share a bath/shower room. Lovely large kitchen and living room. The kitchen is completely fitted with all amenities: split level oven and ceramic hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine. There is also a sturdy table and 6 chairs for inside dining. The living room has comfortable sofas and is equipped with satellite TV and DVD and CD player. |

A welcome pack of essential supplies will be there when you arrive.
Accessibility
The farmhouse is single storey and there are ramps around the outside to negotiate any changes in levels. All bedrooms have double patio doors leading out on to the terraces.
Outside
Casa Merdeka:
There are beautiful irrigated gardens, a paved orchard, a separate water garden with fishpool and fountains, a large 'L'shaped swimming pool with Roman steps at the shallow end. Extensive terrace areas with swing seats, sunbeds and tables and chairs for lounging in the sun or shade. A large tiled table under a pergola served by an outside barbecue and bar. Outside the 'back gate' is a volleyball court.
The Cottage:
Overlooking a lovely swimming pool and surrounded by paved terraces and backed by mature trees. It is a peaceful, magical place. Sun loungers on the terrace allow for relaxing and swimming in a totally private environment. There is a shady outside dining area fringed with bourgainvillea, served by a BBQ and softly illuminated at night.
Coast/Beach
7 minutes drive to Es Grao beach. 0.5 hour walk to the coast.
Travel
Mahon airport is 15 minutes.
Car hire is essential. We can help and advise with flight arrangements and car hire.
Distances
Mahon,the capital of Menorca, with its spectacular natural harbour fringed with bars and restaurants is 10 minutes drive away. There are excellent supermarkets here plus banks and all the amenities you would associate with a regional capital.
Es Grao, a fishing village in a sheltered bay with a safe sandy beach, shallow water and opportunities for hiring sailing dinghies and windsurfers is a 7 minute drive away. There are also bars, beachside restaurants and a small friendly supermarket
Further details
The Farmhouse and Cottage are managed by Pimms,a good friend of ours who has lived on the island for 20 years and will be able to answer all your questions. Bill & Carmel are our concierge couple who look after the property and grounds on a day-to-day basis and are willing to babysit, cater and provide extra cleaning/laundry if required.
The countryside around the farmhouse is totally protected as a special ecological area and there are some lovely walks.
Booking notes
A 50% deposit is required at time of booking and the balance is due 6 weeks before departure.

We had a wonderful holiday in the Cottage. We have holiday'd in Menorca for 26+ years & had many wonderful times but this was special. Your brochure expressed the romance & tranquility of Casa Merdeka & we found both in abundance. It is a delightful villa with a lovely pool & atmosphere. Carmel & Bill add to the sense of peace & happiness & Pimms gave us a lovely welcome on arrival.
