Es Castell is a normal, working Spanish town with historical links to the British rule in the 1800s. There is a small beach within walking distance but you are positioned well to reach other beaches on the island. The nearest ones being Binibeca, Punta Prima and S'Algar. There is a regular bus service into Mahon where it is possible to reach all destinations. Es Castell has a large square or Esplanada with cafes and Town Hall, tourist centre. It is situated along the Port of Mahon where the apartment overlooks.

Changeover day
Preferred booking date Saturday but some flexibility. On the changeover day please vacate the apartment by 11.00am (unless previously arranged with the owner).

| Bathrooms: | 1 bathroom with bath with overhead shower, basin with cupboards under and large mirror over, towel rails. |
| Kitchen: | Open plan kitchen with oven and ceramic hob, plenty of cupboards, washer/dryer, large fridge/freezer; large, central, granite breakfast bar with sink set in, microwave, kettle, toaster etc. |
| Living Rooms: | Sunny open plan area with large arched doors to the balcony, overlooking the garden and pool. There is a large L shaped sofa, coffee table, side tables and cupboards, flat screen TV, Sky free view, DVD player. |
| Other: | There is a large balcony with doors opening from the living room and the bedroom looking over the walled, secluded garden and pool. On the balcony is a table and 4 chairs, umbrella, sunbed and potted plants. You can also see a few boats on Cales Fonts. |

There are room heaters provided and/or fans. Z-beds available for 3rd person at an extra weekly cost of £20.Cot and high chair also available at a cost of £20 extra per week per item.

From the entrance hallway there is 1 flight of stairs to the first floor.
Outside
The garden is a shared space with 11 other apartments.
It has a large pool which is cleaned twice a week. There are planted flowerbeds and trees and all around the walls are trailing bougainvillea. There are lawns for sunbathing around the pool. It is a private and peaceful area.
Coast/Beach
There are many beaches within driving distance of approximately 20 minutes drive. The main ones are Binibeca, Punta Prima, Cala Mesquida, Es Grau. There is a small, local beach within walking distance in Santa Ana.
Golf
Son Parc 18 hole golf course is approximately a 30 minute drive and is open all year.
Special interest holidays
There are many activities available in Menorca. Painting courses,cycling, rambling groups, sailing, kayaking, canoeing, birdwatching, walking, there are rare wild flowers and conservation areas of interest, many cultural and historical interests.
Travel
Mahon airport is a 15 minute drive. The port of Mahon ferry terminal is a 10 minute drive. Car hire is not essential as there is a good bus service from Es Castell to Mahon city centre and then to all other towns and beaches in Menorca. However if you do wish to explore the many off the beaten track places it is advisable to hire a car from one of the many companies.

About the owner
I first visited Menorca in 1984 and loved the beaches and easy atmosphere. Everything was within easy reach and the towns of Mahon and Cuitadella are interesting and beautiful. The Port of Mahon has a good night life.
There are water sports available, excursions, horse riding, safari treks across country, organised walks, fiestas and events.
We moved permanently in 2004 and have been part of Menorcan life ever since.

The location is one of the best for everything whilst on holiday. Above Calas Fonts you have the relaxing situation to either walk and enjoy the atmosphere or to have a choice of restaurants, bars and shops to browse in.
The apartment is in an elegant, Georgian house with a quiet garden and swimming pool. It has a sunny balcony.
Also in Es Castell there are all normal activities.
