The town of Es Castell is a bustling, lively Spanish town steeped in history relating to the English rule in the 1800s. It has an English community and church. It also has good restaurants and shops and local transport to the city of Mahon and other parts of the island. Es Castell is situated along the estuary of Mahon Harbour and enjoys the experience of all the ships entering the port. It also is ideally situated for all kinds of breaks. The countryside around Es Castell has good walking areas and spectacular views. It is ideal for painters, and sporting activities (cycling, sailing, kayaking & canoeing, golf, rambling) historical and cultural interests as well as just relaxing and enjoying the setting of the harbour. The apartment is fully equipped and is cosy and comfortable with modern facilities for all seasons.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds. Prices are negotiable for longer lets. Z-bed charged @ £20 extra per person per week. Baby cots can be hired for £20 per week.
Early booking recommended for 2008.

Changeover day
Prefered booking date Saturday but some flexibility.
On the changeover day please vacate the apartment by 11.00am (unless previosly arranged with the owner).

Accommodation
Bedrooms: Bedroom 1 with twin beds or kingsize bed.
Extra Z-beds fold into chairs.
Bathrooms: Bathroom with bath, shower above, wc, basin set into cupboard with mirror lights and fan, towel shelves and emersion heater.
Kitchen: The kitchen is open plan with the lounge area.
Electric fan oven and ceramic hob, large fridge/freezer, washing/drying machine, basin set into black granite central worktop with breakfast bar, microwave, kettle, toaster and plenty of cupboards.
Living Rooms: The living room is tastefully furnished with modern, large, L-shaped sofa, coffee table, side table, lamps, flatscreen TV, satellite tv, bookshelves with many good books, individual cupboards for extra storage. There is a central fan.
Other: There is a large balcony with doors opening from the living room and the bedroom looking over the walled, secluded garden and pool. On the balcony is a table and 4 chairs, umbrella, sunbed and potted plants.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Linen and towels (not beach towels) are included and are changed once per week on the changeover day.

Notes on accommodation
There are room heaters provided and/or fans. Z-beds available for 3rd person at an extra weekly cost of £20.Cot and high chair also available at a cost of £20 extra per week per item.

Accessibility
From the entrance hallway there is 1 flight of stairs to the first floor.

Outside
The garden is a shared space with 11 other apartments.
It has a large pool which is cleaned twice a week. There are planted flowerbeds and trees and all around the walls are trailing bourgonvillea. There are lawns for sunbathing around the pool. It is a private and peaceful area.

Coast/Beach
There are many beaches within driving distance of approximately 20 minutes drive.

Golf
Son Parc 18 hole golf course is approximately a 30 minute drive and is open all year.

Special interest holidays
There are many activities available in Menorca. Painting courses,cycling, rambling groups, sailing, kayaking, canoeing, birdwatching, walking, there are rare wild flowers and conservation areas of interest, many cultural and historical interests.

Travel
Mahon airport is a 15 minute drive. The port of Mahon ferry terminal is a 10 minute drive. Car hire is not essential as there is a good bus service from Es Castell to Mahon city centre and then to all other towns and beaches in Menorca. However if you do wish to explore the many off the beaten track places it is advisable to hire a car from one of the many companies.

Son Parc golf course 30 minutes drive.
Beaches, Binibeca 15 minute drive.

Many Talaots, varied distances.
Albufera conservation area 20 minute drive.

Es Castell has all main facilities i.e. banking, postal, internet cafes, bus services, medical centres, taxis, pharmacies, restaurants, bars, shops, supermarkets etc, museum, places of visual and historical interest.

Bookings secured on a deposit of 25% of the total price which is non-refundable.
Balance due 8 weeks before date of holiday.
