This lovely privately owned detached holiday villa with private pool is situated in the peaceful village of Son Vilar, Menorca (Minorca), on the outskirts of Es Castell (fishing village) and Mahon (capital), so amenities are close by and also just a short drive to gorgeous beaches. The villa sleeps 2 - 7 in three air-conditioned bedrooms (cool or heat). It has a large terrace with barbecue and a further patio, both with tables, chairs and plenty of sun loungers. It is nicely furnished, fully equipped (including Satellite TV), superbly cleaned and serviced weekly with fresh linen by my local manager. The private pool, which has Roman Steps, is serviced twice weekly by a local specialist manager. Both managers are available at other times should any problems arise. Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds (includes electricity, water, gas, laundry). The rentals above are for a party of two staying one week (there are small supplements for larger party sizes). Changeover day
Changeover day is Friday. The villa is available after 3pm on your arrival day, and you must vacate by 10am on your departure day. In the low seasons the changeover day may be flexible (e.g. March, April, September, October).

Bedroom 3. Two single beds.
Bathrooms: En-suite bathroom to bedroom 1 with shower, bidet, wc, wash hand basin.
Bathroom with bath/shower over, wc, wash hand basin.
Kitchen: Oven (electric), hob (gas), large fridge/freezer, washing machine, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, electric kettle and iron/ironing board.
Living Rooms: Lounge/Diner is nicely furnished with large sofa, two armchairs, table/chairs, Satellite TV, Stereo Hi-Fi (CD, cassette, radio), VHS, DVD, TV, a selection of pre-recorded tapes, and SW radio. Doors open onto the patio for exterior dining or relaxation.
Other: There is a Playstation 2 and TV in Bedroom 2 (please take your own games).
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
The villa is cleaned prior to your arrival, fresh linen supplied (take your own beach towels), and the fridge is stocked with breakfast supplies (plus wine!!). Thereafter there is a interim weekly clean with fresh supply of linen.

Notes on accommodation
The air conditioning is either cool or heat depending on the season, and also controls humidity for maximum comfort.
There is a small park opposite the drive with a small playground for children.

Accessibility
The villa is on one level with just one step at the entrance door, and one step down to one of the bedrooms. All other rooms, terrace, and patio are on one level. The pool has Roman Steps for easier entrance to the shallow end.

Outside
The villa is situated on a plot of nearly quarter acre and is at the end of a cul-de-sac with no passing traffic. There is a large terrace with plenty of sun loungers, barbecue, and eating area. The private pool is (8m x 5m) and has Roman Steps entry which is great for children, elderly, or novice swimmers!
The pool is cleaned twice weekly during your stay. There is a further patio with loungers and an eating area.

Coast/Beach
There are numorous gorgeous beaches easily reached in 15 - 25 mins drive (Es Grau, Punta Prima, Alcaufar, Cal'n Porter, etc.).

Golf
The golf course at Son Parc is about a 25min drive.

Travel
A hire car is essential in Menorca due to the uncommercialised nature of local transport. This can be arranged seperately for my tenants with substantial discount (details on request).
Your hire car will meet you at Mahon airport on your arrival day. It is an easy 10 minute drive to the villa.
At the end of your holiday you just leave the hire car in a designated area at Mahon airport. Perfect!

Distances
Both Es Castell and Mahon are just a few mins drive away, and both offer an abundance of superb restaurants, bars, and amenities. All my tenants receive a guide that features some well tried good value venues. Nowhere is that far (on an island only 30 x 12 miles) and you can get to the other side of the island in less than 40 mins.

Further details
Menorca is great also for walks. Many of the more deserted beaches can be reached in this way. There's a picnic cooler box in the villa!
All tenants receive a information pack before their holiday date which lists details of local shops, restaurants and bars, amenities, and some recommended local beaches.

However, as an indication, a booking deposit is just £75 per person (excluding babies under 2 years).

Why the owner chose a home in this location
Son Vilar is a terrific peaceful village between Mahon (capital) and Es Castell (fishing village), both just a walkable one Km away, or just minutes in a hire car (strongly recommended on Menorca). An ideal base to enjoy and explore this magical island. Numerous gorgeous beaches are within a short 20min drive, and superb restaurants and bars are on your doorstep. Or just laze around the superb private pool with it's user friendly Roman Steps!

Unique benefits of the property
The villa and pool are locally managed, and is fully equipped including all linen (changed weekly). It has passed the scrutiny of the Menorca Tourist Board and is Registered at Superior level. Please note that, unlike many villas, there is no charge for using the air conditioning! There is a welcome pack in the fridge for your arrival (including beer and wine!). A small local supermarket is just up the road, or larger ones (like Tesco etc.) within a 5min drive. The villa is secluded yet so close to amenities - a perfect base for your holiday on this lovely island. Nowhere is very far.
