Notes on accommodation
Couldn't be better for children! Safe play in the gardens and pool area in this fully-gated complex. Beaches nearby are suitable for children and safe for swimming. Air-conditioned sitting room and bedrooms. Energy costs are included in the weekly rental.
Accessibility
This apartment is not suitable for wheelchairs. Call for details of my 4-bedroom villa in Cala Egos (nearby) which is suitable and has one twin-bed bedroom and a bathroom on the ground floor or my ground flooor 3-bed apartment in Cala Esmeralda (nearby).
Outside
Beautifully kept gardens are a feature of this small complex. Children will love the space and parents will like the security. Relax! The Olympic-size pool also boasts a jacuzzi and waterfall area. Plenty of sun-beds are available. The residents bar is subsidised and has good food on offer. Teenagers (and others) will like the easy access to the nightlife in Cala D'Or and Cala Egos. Fantastic rock-pool on the nearby beach - 100 yards! Optional secure underground parking at extra cost.
Coast/Beach
There are 2 beautiful beaches within 2-3 mins walk, both sandy, sheltered coves with beach bars. Within 5 mins drive are 5 more sandy beaches, providing ample space for sun-worshippers! All beaches are suitable for children and safe for swimming. Glass-bottomed boats take you right around the coast. Regular road-train service from the door to all beaches and facilities in the locality, including the fabulous Cala Mondrago beaches.
Golf
The beautiful Vall D'Or golf course is an easy 8-10 min drive. This is an 18 hole course with excellent fairways and greens. It has some stunning sea views. The clubhouse is very well equipped with a large bar / restaurant area and lovely big sun terrace overlooking the course, with the sea behind. It is the perfect setting for a relaxing drink after your round. Club hire, trolley & buggy hire are available. There is also a shop, driving range and putting green. The course is open 12 months of the year. Booking is advisable during the busier months. The Calonge Gold Club is about a 15 minute drive.
Special interest holidays
Apart from golf there are many other activities to enjoy in Mallorca - even out of the peak summer months. If you have an interest in golf, cycling, walking, birdwatching the apartment is available to rent all year round and will provide a very comfortable base for you to stay. The famous Cuevas del Drach (Dragon's Caves), with their miles of stunning caverns and underground lake, are close by and well worth a visit. A trip to Palma to see the magnificent Cathedral and then the train to Soller with breathtaking views are all worth doing at any time.
Travel
45 minute drive from Palma airport (29 miles). Taxi can be arranged.
Distances
Location, location, location! 2-3 mins to the beach. 400 yards/metres to Cala Egos shopping centre, 1km to Cala D'Or Marina with all its fabulous restaurants and shops and less than 4km to Cala D'Or centre and beaches. Cala Mondrago beach and nature reserve are about 4 miles. Road-train available to many destinations. San Salvador monastry 20 mins drive. The markets in Santanyi and Felantix can be reached with a 20 min drive.
Further details
There are a full selection of useful shops (supermarkets, clothing, gifts, duty-free, car & bike rental, internet cafe, banks and ATM machines) and a taxi rank in Cala Egos centre (400 yards/metres). Many bars, restaurants, entertainment, children's interests and other facilities within easy walking distance (4-500 yards/metres). Lots more in Cala D'Or! 20% deposit is payable on booking to confirm reservation, with the balance due 6 weeks before the holiday commences. Payment by internet banking transfer or cheque. A damage deposit may be required from groups.
