Outside
The balcony, overlooking the bay has a table, and four chairs. There is an additional small balcony convenient for drying clothes.
At the entrance to the property is a small garden area with shady patio: table, canopy, and 3 more chairs.
Coast/Beach
Cala Tirant beach, 8 minutes walk, is a wide sweep of sand, with a shallow cove suitable for small children. There are nearer rocky and stony coves suitable for deep water swimming and snorkeling. There is a delightful coastal walk to Fornells. Son Parc beach is about 15 minutes drive away, and the many other beautiful beaches in Menorca are not far by car.
Golf
The nearest golf course is at Son Parc, about 15 minutes drive from Playas de Fornells.
Travel
Mahon airport is approximately half an hour's drive. There are sufficient restaurants and supermarkets at Playas de Fornells to manage without a car. However, a car is highly recommended to access the excellent restaurants in Fornells and to explore the island.
Distances
Fornells, (3km) is a delightful low rise fishing village, now expanding as a holiday venue, with some high quality shops, plenty of restaurants and a stunningly beautiful bay. As the bay is almost landlocked it is ideal for sailing and wind-surfing. The capital Mahon and the old medieval city of Cuitadella, at either end of the island, are little more than half and hour's drive away.
Further details
Sailing and Windsurf tuition at Fornells.
Diving at Fornells.
Boat trips from Fornells, Mahon and Cuitadella.
Fiestas - as advertised through the summer months.
Pre-historic monuments and settlements throughout the island.
The island is excellent walking country.
It is not an area for much night life and clubbing!

Owner profile
Celebrating Vicky's seventieth birthday!
About the owner
Roger and Victoria Huddleston, now retired and living
in Staffordshire.
We discovered Menorca on a celebration holiday for our silver wedding 21 years ago - and the rest is history!
We have two daughters and a son, a son-in-law and a daughter-in-law, and three grand-daughters. They all love Menorca.
Apart from the fact that the rental income helps defray the considerable costs of running a second home, we like to know that other people are enjoying Menorca, and our lovely views when we are not there. We hope our guests will find everything as good, and better, than described.
Year purchased: 1980's
Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
Getting there is so easy: just a 2 hour flight, no urban sprawl, and less than half an our from the airport.
And we love the fact that there are so many beautiful places to visit within a short drive. There are both developed, and completely untouched beaches. It is still so unspoiled by development. There is great geological diversity including protected boisphere zones.
We love to walk, and swim, and Vicky windsurfs.
Or, to just sit and absorb the views, and watch the world go by, with the sun sparkling on the azure sea ....
Unique benefits of the property
Above all - It is the views! Just sitting on the balcony looking out to sea...
When we first visited Menorca, we had no intention of buying a holiday home. We always thought that it would be boring to return again and again to the same place. The we visited Playas de Fornells, and were thrilled by the interesting designs of the development, where the buildings were so cleverly set into the contours of the hills. When the agent showed us 34 Alcor, we thought the situation was particularly special.
And it is very close to Fornells, with its beautiful, almost land-locked bay, water-sports and restaurants.
