'Son Amar' is a traditional villa in the beautiful resort area of Son Bou, which has the largest beach on Menorca, a long sandy beach with safe bathing for children. There is also a good selection of bars, restaurants, water park, maze and water sports. The resort is not over developed on the beach front due to the protected wetlands behind the beach. The villa is situated in a quiet cul de sac with a mature garden and pine trees, a lovely private spot. The beach is a 15 minute walk or a few minutes drive. The main shopping and entertainment areas of Son Bou are a ten minute walk away, but the closest bar with a pool is about 200m away.

Friday is the changeover day, although we can be flexible, depending on current bookings.

The villa boasts a large front terrace, often used as an al fresco dining area, and a secluded side patio, for entertaining. There is a flat roof which offers great views over the bay. |

A property management company arranges cleaning. Bath towels and bed linen are provided. Please bring your own beach towels. Cleaning service is included before arrival - daily visits can be arranged at additional cost |
Notes on accommodation
The villa does not have its own pool, but there is a pool within 200m. The villa has many steps, but has been used safely by small children, and a baby gate is available in the villa for this use.

Outside
The villa is situated in the middle of a large plot, with mature gardens. There is a large front terrace, reached by the front villa steps. To the side of the villa there is another terrace, nicely shaded in the heat of the day. For the real sun worshippers, the roof offers an area for sunbathing.
Coast/Beach
The resort of San Jaime (Son Bou) is based around the largest beach on the island; over 2km long. It is also possible to take a walk to San Thomas, in the next bay. San Jaime is connected to the rest of the island by two roads, making it ideal to explore the rest of the island.
Golf
The golf course at Son Parc is a 20 minutes drive away.
Travel
The nearest airport is Mahon, which is about a 15 minutes drive away. There is a bus service throughout the island, but it is best explored by car. If not, it is possible to join excursions arranged by the hotels in the resort.
Distances
The nearest town is Alaior, 7km away. Mao (Mahon) is the island capital based around the large natural harbour which made the island an important port for the British fleet. The port is now home to many bars and restaurants, and an interesting collection of boats. The regular ferry service between Barcelona, Palma and Valencia stops here. At the other end of the island, the old capital Cuitadella is full of Spanish charm, and well worth a visit. It is also a good stopping point on the way to

There are two supermarkets in San Jaime, along with many tourist shops in the main complex near the hotels. Alaior has many shops and larger supermarkets.
