Casa Viola is a spacious luxury 4 bedroom villa set in tranquil pine woods yet just a 2 minute drive to shops, restaurants, bars and the beautiful white sand beach of Son Saura (one of Spain's top 10 beaches). Our guests enjoy total privacy in the grounds with 5 terraces to chill, read and relax in the sun or shade. A 10 minute walk from the villa brings you to the Cami de Cavalls, the long distance footpath that encircles the Island with its spectacular cliff views and stunning secluded beaches. The most popular activities with our guests include golf and tennis at the Son Parc Golf Course; Watersports at the sea lagoon of Fornells and the fantastic wildlife at the Albufera nature reserve, the home of Hoopoes, Ospreys, Booted Eagles and a host of butterflies. All bedrooms have air-conditioning and reverse cyce heating for comfortable sleeping.

Prices shown are for the property per week in UK pounds. We can accept payment by BACS and in Euros and are happy to offer discounts for 'returners', early and late bookings and small parties.
Changeover day
Preferred changeover day is Mondays but this is flexible.

Accessibility
Unfortunately, as Casa Viola is situated on the pine wood slopes there are 10 steps up to the first terrace which would make it difficult for wheelchair users

Coast/Beach
The beautiful white sand beach of Son Saura (one of Spain's top 10 beaches) is only 3 minutes away by car. It is ideal for families and young children as it shelves very gently, so is safe and the water warm. For a change you can visit the lovely horseshoe bay of Arenal d'en Castell (10 minutes drive or 20 minute walk along the coastal path). Both beaches have beach bars, umbrellas, loungers and pedaloes. You can choose any of Menorcas 350 beaches and even in summer you may have it to yourself.
Golf
Son Parc 18 hole golf course is in the village and is the only golf course on Menorca. A discount of 25% on all golf and tennis is available for our guests. The course is quite challenging . Tennis raquets, Golf clubs and buggies are available for hire.
The club house is open all day for meals and drinks and is a great place to relax.
Special interest holidays
Casa Viola is ideally situated for a nature lovers break out of the summer season. We enjoy walking the different legs of the Cami de Cavalls when the weather is cooler and there is always so much to see with birds and flowers. We always visit each spring when the landscape suddenly becomes carpetted with wild flowers including lilies and byzantine gladioli. We also love exploring the National Park at Es Grau for seeing the many majestic birds of Menorca. Some of our guests enjoy painting the beautiful landscapes. Another way of seeing Menorca at a slower pace is hiring Kayaks/ boats and exploring the many coves only accessible by sea.
Travel
Casa Viola is located half an hour drive from Mahon airport. Car hire is highly recommended although there there are regular buses from Son Parc to Mahon and Fornells in the high season and taxis are quite plentiful and reasonably priced.If you wish to hire a car we can recommend a local company who will offer a 10% discount on their normal prices. Bicycles (including an electric bike and a tandem) are available for guests use.
Distances
Mahon, the capital is 20 kilometres, Fornells and Mercadal are both approximately 10 kilometres.
Further details
There are supermarkets, restaurants, a pharmacy and a doctors surgery in Son Parc. The nearest banks/cashpoints are to be found at Fornells, Mercadal and Arenal d'en Castell.

About the owner
We first visited Menorca as newly weds over 25 years ago and fell in love with the unspoilt beaches and countryside and the friendly happy Menorquin people. Little has changed over the years with its designation of Site of Global Biodiversity - Menorca remains our favourite destination.
Working as Doctors in the NHS we were looking for a holiday home in an idylic spot for relaxing with friends and family with all the comforts of home- no compromise. After many years of searching we chose Casa Viola as it truly is perfect with its private tranquil setting in the pine woods yet close to the beautiful Son Saura Beach and all of the amenites in Son Parc that make a holiday easy and fun.
We really hope that our guests enjoy their Casa Viola Holiday as much as we do.
