Accessibility
The entry way is level, bring your car right up to the front door! this is handy when unloading your luggage, or bringing in the groceries. Private parking is within the grounds to ensure it's security and for your convenience.

named after the salt cedars which line our courtyard and this special space draws our guests to entertain outdoors. You will enjoy cooking in our outdoor kitchen and having delicious meals in our secluded courtyard. During the summer, you can extend your hours at the beach with our complimentary beach kit that contains your own beach towels, beach blankets, coolers and sunshades. Have a warm shower in our superb outdoor shower. Brilliant after a revitalizing swim in the Atlantic!
In the evenings our exterior lighting along with the moon and the stars creates an atmosphere that is dramatic, unexpected and very romantic! From our roof-top terrace, you will marvel at our majestic vistas of the cliffs, hillside and ocean.

Located in an isolated environment yet you are walking distance to a restaurant. Café Fajã. For a fabulous traditional meal it’s only a 3KM distance away in Praia do Norte. Dine at Rumar restaurant with views of Fajã. For groceries, fin do mundo store is 3KM away where you may purchase all of your groceries and supplies for your entire self-catering stay.
Distances
Nearby Capelo is only a five minute drive where you can visit its volcano and interpretation centre. A further 25 minute scenic drive through interesting towns and quaint villages you reach the cosmopolitan city of Horta; brimming with shops, restaurants, cafes, and one of the most beautiful bay's in the World!

Our setting: take in the aromatic scents of the forests and feel your stress disappear into the therapeutic ocean air. Start your day with immersing yourself in the fresh Azorean environment while taking in the activities of the traditional past such as fishermen fishing off the coastline, farmers tending to their livestock or crops. Then spend your afternoon either admiring the views from the nearby look-out-point or enjoying the astonishing vistas during a hike through the forests. End your day with a glass of wine while watching the magnificent sunsets from our roof-top terrace. Or lie in the hammocks that sway from the trees while listening to the cries of the Cory’s shearwater seabirds. Evenings at Os Salgueiros always ends with the rhythmic song of the ocean waves in the distance.

2011:Os Salgueiros is in a very peaceful location it had everything we needed to relax after a day of touring the island. Walking through the old farm roads near the cottage was a great way to start our mornings. The village of Fajã was very quiet and occasionally you came across a farmer and his wife hoeing a plot of land by hand. You feel you are definitely in the old world of Europe. This cottage is highly recommended for a couple for a romantic getaway or small family-Friendly holiday home in a great location . Cozy cottage, with everything you need! The road to Fajã is beautiful winding among woods and lined with hydrangeas and the scenery around is spectacular! *2010: Our trip to the Azores was truly the best vacation I have ever taken. The islands are magical and the people wonderful. I will say that the island of Faial was my favorite, and staying at Os Salgueiros made my trip, being so close to the sea! What a way to really feel the real!!Azores.

Our emphasis is on providing our guests with a comfortable accommodation in a peaceful seaside setting; while still promoting our area of Fajã’s unique natural beauty. Whether our guests use Os Salgueiros as a base for touring the island of Faial; or for discovering the cultural natural riches of its neighborhood; or just want to relax; Os salgueiros offers the best ambiance for our guests to truly have a remarkable Azorean holiday!

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We always wanted a house on the ocean, well we sure did find one, our cottage is only 30 meters from the coast, and within easy walking distance to a sandy beach. Secluded set back and on a non through road. and surrounded by protected landscapes. The benefit of being on sea level means we always have ocean views no matter the weather.
Another reason for buying Os Salgueiros is because the neighborhood and the residents are very kind, giving and welcoming to us and continue to be so towards all of our guests.
Unique benefits of the property
During the summer this area is all about basking on the beach, enjoying the sunsets and going to the popular nearby restaurant. During the winter, our vacation home is awarded with majestic views of the waterfalls. During the spring time, we meander through the hiking trails of Rocha da Faja. Or venture up to Monte Gordo, the highest mountain on Faial.
Most enjoyable is enjoying a glass of wine and watch the sunsets!
