The apartment is very spacious and located at the back of the hotel so that it is very private and you get the sun setting on the balcony in the summer months. The balcony also has a great view of the Dachstein Mountain. The hotel is located near to part of the well known Salzkammergut Trophy Mountain Biking Race which takes place every July and attracts guests to the hotel from all over the world. The hotel is also within 20 minutes of 3 good size ski resorts and within an hour’s drive of the well known Ski Amade Area which is Austria's largest ski area. The hotel is close to the Halstattersee which has the well known resort of Halstatt on its shores.

Notes on prices
The rates shown are above are for up to 4 people. Additional cost of 100 Euros for 6-8 people per week.
The weekly rate is for 6 nights, extra nights can be added at additional cost.
The price includes the cost of linen and cleaning of the apartment.

Accessibility
There is a 6 person lift to enable access to the 6th floor.
Outside
The balcony has a small table and 4 chairs, but the hotel has a sun terrace at the back and also an indoor swimming pool and sauna and steam room as well as a relaxing room all accessible for guests in the lower ground floor accessible by the lift.
Coast/Beach
A large outdoor swimming complex is located in the town of Bad Goisern about 2 miles away. Great to spend a day there when the weather is too hot for walking/cycling.
Golf
Nearest golf course is about 5 miles away at Bad Ischl.
Skiing
Three ski resorts within 20 minutes drive are dachstein west at gosau, loser at altausee and feurkogel at ebensee. Further a field is Tauplitz and the ski amade area.
Travel
Nearest airport is Salzburg approx 1 hour by car - please contact for website to book car hire which is easy to find opposite airport. Recommend hiring a car especially if intending to ski. Car journey follow the signs to Vienna on the autobahn and then come off at Thurlgau then head for Bad Isch, then Bad Goisern, you come to a roundabout turn right into the town and then go across the junction to the bridge. The hotel is located across the river signposted Alpenhotel Dachstein.
Distances
Halstatt 3 miles away famous lakeside town seen on most holiday guide books. Obertraun 4 miles away lovely village located just on from Halstsatt must visit the Ice caves and Mammouth caves. Bad Isch 2 miles away famous spa town must visit the thermal baths and swim outside, great for all those aches and pains. Gmunden 12 miles away Traverse the wonderful Lake Traunsee on the way to this lovely lake side town. St Wolfgang 10 miles away famous lake side town.
Further details
Plenty of local supermarkets in Bad Goisern and nearby Bad Ischl so useful if self catering. Can eat in the hotel both for breakfast and evening meal costs about 20 Euro's a day per person. Can hire bikes at local shop in Bad Goisern (Bikes for you) and hire ski's and boots at local sport shop again in the town. Most of the ski resorts offer ski school and ski and boot hire as well.

25% deposit required as confirmation of booking with remainder to be paid within 4 weeks of usage. If payment in Euro's will provide details of local Austrian bank account in Bad Goisern.
If payment in Sterling please send cheque or can provide details of UK bank account.
Apartment key can be picked up in hotel reception and I will let them know when to expect you to arrive.

We had a wonderful time, lovely scenery with a nice central location which made it easy to visit the main attractions of the Salzkammergut. About the owner
I am part owner with my father of the apartment dachstein view and have owned it since 2005.
Both my father and I are keen skiers and try to visit at least 2 times a year and have pretty much skied all the local pistes within an hrs drive of the apartment.
I also enjoy mountain biking and walking in the wonderful mountains and lakes nearby.
I am planning to move out to Austria permanently at some stage in the future once we have sold our house with the intention of setting up a ski touring service in the winter and cycle/hiking guide service in the summer.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We love the area and could not afford to buy in a ski resort as too expensive.
Also like the walking and cycling opportunities available in the area and the central location to get to other places quite easily.
Easy to get to supermarkets and local towns of Bad Ischl, Bad Aussee.
Great range of different restaurants including Italian. Chinese and Indian
Lovely quiet location to escape from the stresses of the modern world.
Bad Ischl has a wonderful spa which opens till 10pm in the evenings
Unique benefits of the property
Use of the swimming pool, sauna and steam room great to have especially after a hard day's skiing, cycling or walking.
Also convenient to eat in the hotel if the weather is bad or do not want to drive into Bad Gosiern.
