Changeover day
Changeover day is generally on Saturday but this can be flexible. The chalet will be available for occupancy from 3pm on the date of arrival and must be vacated by 10am on the day of departure.

Golf
Golf enthusiasts may like to try a few holes at the local Golfclub Murau Kreischberg. There are another 12 courses within a 90 minute drive.
Skiing
There are a number of local ski resorts including Kreischberg, Turracher Hohe, Obertauern, Mauternborf and Frauenalpe. Kreischberg, the nearest resort offers alpine skiing, cross-country tracks and night skiing. For boarders there is a snowboard arena with the world championship 'superpipe' and the 'big air'. Also 'Boarderland' with snakes, jumps and rails. For kids try the tubing park, trampolines, yabba-dabba-doo land or dinoworld. Kreischberg has 80% snow cannon coverage for all season snow. Pistes Easy 14km. Medium 7km. Difficult 8km. Total 29km
Turracher hohe provides alpine, cross country and night skiing. Other activities include ice skating on lake Turracher, night tobogganing and horse drawn sleigh rides. Pistes Easy 13km. Medium 22km. Difficult 3km. Total 38km. Obertauern offers Alpine skiing, cross country skiing and snowboarding. Also try Snowshoe hiking on one of the local trails. Pistes Easy 60km. Medium 36km. Difficult 4km. Total 100km.
Travel
Airlines including Thomsonfly, British Airways and RyanAir fly to a number of airports in Austria including Klagenfurt (1 hr 9mins), Salzburg (1 hr 32mins) and Graz (1 hr 42mins). All distances and times from 'Live Search' website.
In winter you can fly direct to Salzburg from most airports including Birmingham, Bournemouth, Bristol, Coventry, Dublin, London, Manchester, Liverpool, Nottingham and Southampton.

Further details
Stadl lido. The chalet is within walking distance of a leisure complex with bathing lake, rope course play ground, tennis court and volleyball. Walking. Use the Kreischberg gondola to start your hike at the tree line and enjoy the pollen-free alpine air.
Cycling. The 365km long Mur Cycle Path is Styria’s longest cycle way and follows the River Mur from its source in the scenic Hohe Tauern mountains all the way to Bad Radkersburg, Styria’s southernmost point. Enjoy scenic cycling through spectacular and diverse scenery. Try white water rafting available locally on the river Mur.
Bars and Restaurants. There are a couple of restaurants and bars in Stadl village or visit the beautiful local town of Murau for restaurants, shopping, bars etc, (15 mins drive). While in Murau visit the funky OpenSpace bar overlooking the river Mur.
Take the train from Stadl to Murau. It runs all year, stopping at the ski lifts in Kreischberg, Golf Club and Murau town centre. Twice a week in Summer the train is pulled by a steam engine. Or simply relax and do nothing but enjoy the views!
