If you fancy a game of golf while staying in an apartment in Argentiere then Chamonix Golf Club is just 15 minutes away. Other activities away from the ski slopes and great for spring and summer are high mountain hiking , climbing and mountain biking. If you’re interested in the history of winter sports then visit Chamonix while staying in an Argentiere chalet. This is where the first ever Winter Olympics were held in 1924. There are also some wonderful restaurants here with most of the local specialities based around cheese; raclette, Tartiflette and fondue to name just three. A little further a field from an Argentiere holiday rental is Lake Geneva and the beautiful Chateau de Chillon, part of which dates from the 1100s and has close historic links with the Haute Savoie area.
Weather
Argentiere holiday apartments are located in an area that not only enjoys long, cold snowy winters ideal for skiers but also has nearly two thousand hours of sunshine a year. Positioned between the Alps, the Massif Central and the Mediterranean Argentiere has hot summers and cold winters.
Best time to visit
For skiing and winter sports, while staying in Argentiere self-catering accommodation, December through to the end of April is probably the best time to visit; for summer activities, June to September.
