Ain holiday accommodation is located in a region with everything you could wish for in terms of activities and attractions. There are countless sites of interest in near Ain holiday cottages, with monuments, chateaux, caves, museums and gardens in the area. Anyone with a love for the outdoors will find plenty to do here – it’s one of the best destinations in France for walking cycling and angling. There’s also a diversity of environments around Ain holiday home rentals – to the west is Bresse, a rural idyll with farmland and lakes. Here you’ll find a top class 18-hole golf course, Golf de Bresse. As you travel east the terrain becomes hilly then mountainous until you get to Pays de Gex, on the Swiss border, which is a popular winter sport destination.

There are countless villages and towns to explore near Ain cottages. Perouges is a good place to begin, and is counted among France’s most beautiful villages. Here you’ll find medieval defensive walls and cobbled roads in a place that has featured in a number of films down the years thanks to its historic character. Bourg-en-Bresse is a little way from Ain villas, and is famous for its stunning religious architecture. The 16th Century gothic Brou church is particularly impressive, and is listed as a National Monument. Closer to the border with Switzerland is the spa town of Divonne-les-Bains, which lies close to the shores of Lake Geneva and is surrounded by no fewer than 30 natural springs.
