Private Owners
The Owners Direct web site, as our name suggests, is designed to put holidaymakers in direct contact with private owners of holiday accommodation. We therefore promote our site as "booking direct with the owner" and regret that we cannot accept advertisements from rental agents.

Individual Property or Multiple Unit Property?
Once you have registered your name and contact details, you will be asked if you wish to advertise an Individual Property or Multiple Unit Property. An Individual Property is a single villa, apartment, house, etc. A Multiple Unit Property is a group of 2 or more villas, apartments, houses, etc. sharing the same plot of land or apartment complex. Please note that the maximum number of units that can be shown on a multiple unit advertisement is 4. If your properties are in different locations, not sharing the same plot of land, then you will need separate advertisements for each property.

Hotels, Guest Houses, Bed and Breakfast Accommodation
Hotels, guest houses and bed & breakfast are listed under the relevant region of each country, making it easy for holidaymakers to find you. There is also a useful link from the Home Page. Once you have registered, choose the "guesthouse/bed & breakfast" form to input your text. If you offer both self catering and bed & breakfast accommodation, please choose a "multiple unit" form according to the number of different accommodation units you provide. Golf Listing
If your property is situated on a golf complex or very close to a good golf course, you may wish to promote it to golfers by purchasing a golf listing.

Ski Listing
Properties situated in or close to ski resorts will automatically be included in our ski listings. Please note that this is a free service and all listings are at the discretion of Owners Direct.

Residents of the United Kingdom will be charged 17.5% VAT in addition to the prices shown above.
Residents of all other EC member countries are not required to pay UK VAT providing they are placing their advertisement for business purposes. Residents of countries outside the EC are not required to pay UK VAT.

Photos
Photos may be sent to us either:
- By uploading digital images directly from your own computer onto our web site.
- By e-mail (as a .jpg attachment).
- By sending original photographs to us by post for scanning.
- By asking us to download photos from your own personal web site.

Please ensure that photos are sharp and as colourful as possible. Do not forget a blue sky!
We recommend a mixture of external and internal photos in order to give guests a good overall picture of your property.
For those uploading digital images or sending images by e-mail the following sizes are recommended:
Minimum width 325 pixels for landscape photos.
Minimum width 250 pixels for portrait shape photos.
Do not worry about photos being larger than this as we can reduce them to the correct size at this end.

How to Register
Before submitting an advertisement, you must register your name, address, telephone number and e-mail address. You will be able to choose a username and password and this will be confirmed to you by e-mail. Once registered, you will be able to access your personal "Advertisement Manager" at any time for submitting new properties and updating your advertisement or availability calendar.

Availability Calendar
We offer a simple to use availability calendar on all advertisements (on multiple unit advertisements, each unit will have its own calendar). You can access and update your calendar at any time to show free/booked dates. We recommend that you make full use of your calendar and keep it up to date, as this can save time and avoid frustration for both you and visitors to the site. Our web site also offers an availability search facility to holidaymakers, data for which is taken from the calendars.

Updating your Advertisement
You can update your advertisement at any time by logging in to your Advertisement Manager. Changes to text, prices and contact details can be made on-line and submitted to us for approval. These changes will normally be displayed on the web site within 24 hours.

Special offers
If you would like to offer a price reduction to fill late availability dates or cancellations, you can do this at any time. A single line of text describing your price reduction will be displayed beneath your property listing.

Free SMS text alerts to your mobile phone
In addition to receiving booking enquiries by email, you can also choose to receive SMS texts direct to your mobile phone to alert you to enquiries. This service is currently provided completely free of charge. The SMS alert service is useful for advertisers who are not able to check their e-mail very frequently, as it enables them to respond to their enquiries sooner.

Browser settings and cookies
You will need to set your browser (Internet Explorer or Netscape) to allow ‘cookies’, otherwise you will not be able to log on and submit an advertisement. Most users will already have the correct settings and need take no action. However, if you do experience problems registering or logging in, please check that you have ‘cookies’ enabled.

To enable cookies in Internet Explorer:

1. Open your Internet browser (Internet Explorer or Netscape)
2. Click on Tools
3. Click on Internet Options
4. Click on Privacy

Look and see if the setting is on "Block all Cookies". If so, move the slider down one notch to "high privacy". This should then allow you to log in.

Owners Direct uses only ‘session cookies’. These are not stored permanently on your computer - they are deleted automatically when you close your browser. Session cookies are necessary for all interactive sites such as ours, and are completely harmless.
