About this property

Romantic Riverside Holiday Cottage At Wroxham, Capital of The Broads

Bure Cottage is set in the exclusive Peninsular Marina by the banks of the River Bure at Wroxham, Capital of the Broads. The romantic self-catering cottage faces the setting sun, a dinghy's distance from a private dyke with stunning bedroom views of the river.

Redecorated & new carpets fitted in 2021, along with new sofas & fridge. Double glazing, lounge heater & new Dreamer mattresses installed year before. Sleeps four with all comforts. Beds are made on arrival morning - and prices include electricity and everything, except towels & toiletries.

Weekly rental is Saturday-to-Saturday. Off-season short breaks Friday, Saturday & Sunday evenings; or mid-week Tuesday to Friday. Prices are very competitive. Sorry, no pets or smoking.

Enjoy the lawn water frontage from the decked terrace, to watch boats, swans and ducks swimming towards you. Or unwind with a bottle of wine at sunset, gazing at wildlife and picnic-boats lazily sailing home.

The tranquil riverside gardens are perfect to lounge among ornamental grasses and flowers. Fish anywhere on-site, watch boats chug by, hire your own - or take a river cruise on one of the many trips among Britain's largest protected wetlands. Magical waterways and lakes dotted with quaint unspoiled villages, windmills and old riverside pubs to explore. A paradise for nature lovers.

The famous 400-year-old Wroxham Bridge and village centre is just 5-minutes stroll. With pubs, restaurants, fish & chips, launderette, Roy's superstores, McDonald's and railway stations. One mainline to Norwich and Yarmouth, and narrow-gauge steam to Aylsham. The magnificent National Trust Blickling Hall and Gardens is just 1.5-mile taxi from Aylsham.

So much to see and do, and close to the beaches of Great Yarmouth and the medieval city of Norwich. NOTE: Bookings paid through Owners Direct can only be accepted more than 48-hours before arrival. The Peninsular site is a working marina, and usually a boat will be moored outside the cottage.

Fabulous waterfront cottage!
This lovely little cottage was the perfect weekend away! The house is right on the water front so the geese greet you every morning and it is very central and within walking distance of all amenities- we will definitely be returning! Beautiful views!!

Pike fishing
The property is ideally located for fishing access although the owners boat could have been better located away from the property.

Wonderful short break
Easy to book, property clean and as described. Lovely touch of a bottle of Prosecco in the fridge plus chocolate and biscuits. A little challenging to actually find how to get through the barrier and where to park as there was no reception but after that all good and it is only a few minutes walk to the bridge, Broads tours boat hire and lots of great places to eat. Compact for 4 adults but has everything you need. Nice space outside to sit and watch the boats, swans etc go by. Recommend booking a day boat in advance if you want one - 6 hrs took us to Ranworth - lovely lunch at the pub and circular walk to Ranworth Broad visitor centre and amazing views from the top of the church tower. Walked to another nice pub the Rising sun at Coltishall alongside the steam railway (2 miles) but unfortunately at the moment they are not stopping there - only end to end return trips. Less than 30 mins to the beach at Caister on sea too. Overall a great break - highly recommend as there is so much to do.

Relaxing
Property was just right for my wife and I for the wwwk. The only disappointment was the boat that was moored up all week right outside the house. We didn't read that it would be there when we booked the holiday but I managed to do a bit of fishing as the guests next to the house were happy foe me to use their area. .
