Villa Anastasia is a delightfully secluded, rural, retreat situated in its own large plot (1400 sq metres) and offering breathtaking sea/mountain views, 8m x 4m swimming pool (1.5m in depth), fantastic roof terrace, stylish accommodation and easy access to beaches and all local amenities. Free wifi is available for guests to use.

This beautiful single storey property has two bedrooms, one large shower room ( newly fitted for Summer 2023) one shower room and spacious open plan kitchen, living and dining area. The house is well equipped and furnished in a colourful and vintage style. Located down a quiet track in unspoilt countryside the villa has panoramic views of Souda Bay. the beautiful white mountains and Drapanos Mount. Ideally situated for those seeking peace, quiet and seclusion yet with all amenities close to hand. The pretty hamlet of Litsarda is a 5 minute stroll and has an excellent pizzeria and a well stocked shop. A short walk away on the Xirosterni road is an excellent Greek mini market open 7 days a week. Across the road from the mini market is a kafeneio that offers simple but great local food in a charming rustic setting. It is also incredible value.

Beautiful villa - clean and homely

A lovely, comfortable, place to relax and switch off, with the pool to keep the kids happy, and all modern conveniences (and very comfortable beds!). Small grocery shops nearby, and reasonably priced restaurants, too. Rural and reasonably secluded. Enjoyed hearing the sheep across the lane, making friends with the local cats, and seeing large birds of prey above us. We did have to contend with large numbers of wasps and ants, which at times made eating outside difficult, but that will have been the time of year. The dirt track to the villa is also not for the faint-hearted! If hiring a car, I would suggest an SUV or something similar. Just a short drive to beaches where there are lots of places to eat and activities etc, and some interesting historical sites.

Perfect holiday

Beautiful well equipped villa, lovely plot. We spent lazy days by the pool, and chilled evenings sipping wine watching the sunset, from the roof terrace, outstanding views of the mountains and bay. We were sad to leave and hope to return.

Lovely!

The property was even more than we hoped for and much much nicer than the photos suggest (but it is a difficult property to photograph)!! The little house had everything we needed and was comfortable and felt very homely. The views both of the sea and the mountains were superb - we even managed to watch a proper moon rise from the roof terrace which was stunning. Jane was a delight to deal with and made everything as easy as possible for us. My only suggestion would be insect netting on the two living room windows but that is being ultra picky! We would highly recommend this villa and thank you Jane for making us so welcome!

relaxing location

the property is very welcoming, very clean and very well maintained,the pool man came twice in the week so pool was in very good condition, early morning swim very enjoyable. nice quite location with good views to mountains and the bay and the sea, plent of good food places and sightseeing in local area, there is a very comprehensive folder with lots of information on activities and places to visit, would go again no problem, had abrilliant time, you need a hire car for this location but well worth it.

My first Greek experience

The villa it's self was so much more than expected. As soon as you walked in the door it was obviously a home loved my someone and opened to us to enjoy. It was very late when we got there and were pleased to find large bottles of water, milk, bread, eggs plus tea and coffee making the start of the holiday a very relaxing one. With views of mountains and the sea it's very spoilt for a choice of views and the sun sets are something you really do just need to see your self. This is a perfect family home with more little touches than I can begin to describe I'd not hesitate to rebook this villa and if one day I was able to find one like it myself I'd happily buy it. Contact with Jane over the weeks leading to the holiday was more like chatting to a friend she's a very warm friendly person and was able to help and advise on every question we had.

Why they chose this property

We first visited Greece in 1990 and fell in love with this beautiful country. Having visited many of the islands we first came to Crete in 1997 and were stunned by its fantastic scenery, charming villages and the sense of peace and tranquillity.

With some trepidation we finally took the plunge and bought our property 10 years ago. It hasn't all been plain sailing as Greek bureaucracy would test the patience of the saintliest saint. But we don't regret our decision for a minute as we love every second that we spend at our house even the constant DIY! The sheer joy of waking every morning to clear blue skies, sunshine and silence is still not something we take for granted. Roll on retirement!!

What makes this property unique

There are lots of things we love about our villa but I think the main benefits are:

- Beautiful panoramic views

- Sense of peace and tranquillity, often all you can hear is the hum of cicadas and birdsong

- There are so many wonderful places to visit all within easy reach
