Dissapointed
We’ve stayed in this location / estate three times now at different nearby properties to this one. This one left us underwhelmed as we encountered quite a few issues which, because of the holiday/NY period, we felt had no option but to manage through. Issues included:
Cleanliness on arrival - cobwebs present in two rooms, crockery /utensils not clean, grease on stove, backing trays, fridge seal mouldy and chopping board with dried food on, en-suite shower had mold/failed seal.
Equipment - Basics for a 7 night self catering stay were missing from inventory including. No measuring jug, no sharp pairing knife, no oven dishes (pies/lasagne/stews not doable). First aid kit consisted of string, a bandage and anti-septic cream that went out date in 2015
Facilities - The freezer was just only just freezing things after we removed 2inch ice build up, back garden decking was lethal and a slip hazard with green algae and stone garden area beyond decking was poorly maintained. No outside lights worked at front - none to rear.
The bedrooms and linen were all clean. Facilities and layout upstairs was really nice and homely.
The property really is in a fabulous position for guests to take advantage of all in locality. There are however better accommodations nearby for same price available elsewhere.
