"Just Perfect "
What an amazing house to spend some time in! We had such high expectations before arrival and these were exceeded. The house provides a perfect balance of outside space and calm interior which made our week just not enough. This is a perfect romantic break for 2 - short drives to interesting towns, but, real tranquillity to ensure you relax. Self catering is our usual option for holidays over the years and this house is now at the top of our list for a return to Spain. I really can't recommend it highly enough - so go on and treat yourselves!!!

"Two fantastic weeks"
We spent two marvelous weeks in this beautiful house, which is very well furnished (a house with a soul...) and equipped (in particular for cooking!). We enjoyed very much the terrace with is different seating and eating areas, the delicious swimming pool, big and fresh, and the garden full of flowers and fruits (green lemons, figs, olive trees, etc.). The weather was also perfect despite the season which is deemed very hot (however, after three seasons in Andalusia, we have never suffered from the heat - albeit in houses with pool). The location is ideal: Casa Olivar is secluded (what we wanted) but close to shops (Turre) and Mojacar Pueblo (nice village with great views and restaurants) and Mojacar Playa (beautiful beaches not too crowded and clean with great chiringuitos). We enjoyed very much visiting Almeria, Cabo de Gata, Sierra Cabrera, Sorbas Natural Park and Cuevas, Mini-Hollywood (fantastic zoo for children and parents!). We highly recommend this house.

Me my wife and two young daughters (both under 5) spent a wonderful week at casa Olivar. The house is even more lovely when you are there as you cannot get the feel of it from the pictures even though the pictures are perfectly accurate. The grounds are wonderfully landscaped and the pool and patio areas are just perfect. The views are spectacular and the house is close enough to all the amenities Yet far enough away for quiet seclusion. The lovely village of mojacar is only a short drive away (10mins) where there are a number of decent restaurants. We will surely be back.

"A wonderful house in a fabulous setting"
We found Casa el Olivar on-line and, seeking a secluded spot for a resting couple of weeks, decided to take a chance. We had no regrets. The house is in a private location, yet minutes from the bustle of Mojacar, and offers a wonderful opportunity to simply relax and unwind. The house represents the culmination of the owner's vision based on her extensive travels and, unlike so many rental properties, it is incredibly warm and welcoming. The owner's books and artwork are on display in this dramatic house, which adds to the feeling that one is a welcomed guest in a friend's home. The kitchen is suitably equipped should you wish to dine in, although there are fabulous restaurants not far away (a special recommendation for the famous 'Fatima's', set up in the hills). Although there is much to do in this beautiful region, we were pleased that the house had multi-channel satellite TV, as our visit coincided with Wimbledon! Mornings were a delight, having coffee over looking the courtyard and then relaxing in peace by the pool. Casa El Olivar represents the opportunity for complete freedom and relaxation, while still being a short drive from a range of bars, restaurants and - of course - the beach. We loved the house and will be returning.

"Wish We Could Keep it a Secret!"
As my husband's parents live in Spain we have visited a lot and I can honestly say that Sarah's house is the nicest we have ever stayed in. It is absolutely beautiful and perfectly designed. Sarah and her husband have poured time and love into it and the results are awe inspiring. The pool is beautifully fresh, has sun all day and is big enough to swim properly in. Even on the hottest days the terrace is cool and breezy and the outdoor shower is an absolute delight as is the Moroccan inspired bathroom. It is set in beautiful surroundings, olive and lemon groves line the drive way, perfectly placed stone Buddhas inspire calm and the only sounds you hear are the gentle toll of goats' bells and cicadas. The house also has every convenience you could wish for; a lovely cool kitchen which opens onto the terrace and the beautiful inner courtyard, barbecue, washing machine, sun shades, plus Sarah's delicious homegrown lemons and olive oil. The house is secluded but only a short drive to the nearest town and supermarket. Mojacar which has loads of restaurants and a nice beach is only ten minutes away. It is also perfectly positioned to explore the stunning coastline of the Cabo de Gata plus the amazing scenery of 'Mini Hollywood' where the Spaghetti Westerns were filmed. If you're there around 7 o clock when the fierce heat of the day has died, the light is perfect and you can really imagine you are in the Wild West. It is perfect for children, they adored the pool, the tree house, pretending they were cowboys and snorkelling in the Cabo de Gata. However, it would also be perfect for adults wishing to get away from it all. The separate studio room also makes it a good choice for families with teenagers or friends. We would definitely stay again hence the title!
