A very pretty cottage peacefully set in the small village of Stoke Rivers - about 5 miles from Barnstaple. The oldest part of the house dates back over 200 years, and it has recently completed a total renovation (2012). Stoke Rivers is within easy reach of North Devon's award winning beaches, and is itself on the western edge of Exmoor. Lynton and Lynmouth, on the north coast, are about 20 minutes drive. The village is located well away from all major roads, and is accessed only by single track roads, with no passing traffic. An idyllic cottage in peaceful countryside.

Beautiful large but cosy room with wooden floor and large inglenook feature fireplace with original bread oven and wood burning stove. There are two large sofas, large flatscreen TV, Playstation 2 and DVD Player. Shuttered windows with views over garden.
Second reception room with Sofa Bed. This room could be used as an extra bedroom or as a playroom. Feature fireplace and wooden floors.
Linen and towels provided. Please bring own beach towels. Property is cleaned before and after each stay.

There is plenty of space, the house featuring a large lounge with TV/DVD and inglenook fireplace (with wood burner), recently refurbished modern kitchen and large open-plan dining area, second smaller lounge, utility room. Upstairs is the master bedroom with ensuite shower room, second bedroom (double) with en-suite, two further twin bedrooms and a large family bathroom with bath and separate shower cubicle. Outside is a secluded mature garden. Wifi provided. Central heating.

About the area
20 minutes drive to excellent surfing beach of Saunton Sands. Croyde, Putsborough and Woolacombe are also easily accessible. The scenic coastal villages of Lynton and Lynmouth on the north coast are also about 20 minutes drive.
Award winning golf course at Woolacombe - half hour drive

Nearest airport is Exeter - about 45 minutes drive.
Bristol Airport - 1.5 hours drive
London Airports - 3 hours drive
Car is essential.
Nearest town is Barnstaple (10 minutes) with its Pannier Market, large supermarkets and high street shops etc. Lynton and Lynmouth are about 20 minutes drive. Nearby pubs in villages of Bratton Fleming, Brayford and Goodleigh. Exeter is about 45 minutes drive.
There’s something to suit everyone in North Devon and Stoke Rivers is well placed for so many great days out. There are many excellent pubs and restaurants nearby for meals out. The nearby town of Barnstaple has lots of high street shops as well as an enclosed traditional pannier market and many shops selling local specialities. The village is on the edge of Exmoor with its abundance of walks and cycling routes. For days out, visit the famous ancient fishing village of Clovelly, perhaps take a boat trip to Lundy Island, hire some bikes in Barnstaple and cycle the gentle Tarka Trail, or maybe spend a day at RHS Rosemoor or the National Trust Arlington Court estate.
For children, visit Combe Martin's Wildlife & Dinosaur Park, the ever popular Big Sheep all weather attraction or the Milky Way Adventure Park.
Northern Cornwall is also accessible for longer days out to places such as historic Tintagel and Boscastle.

The six of us had a lovely stay at the cottage. We were made to feel so welcome, thank you Stephanie. Lots to see and do around the area and a lovely house and garden to relax in at the end of the day.
