"Wonderful French trip"
Our friends recommended this villa to us. We booked a March visit as we like walking and touring. We enjoyed visiting the many little Bastide villages and castles, especially Monpazier and Monflanquin. Although very quiet as early in the season it was nice to sit in the squares and enjoy coffee. We really enjoyed lots of lovely walks through the vines and especially liked walking to Saussignac where we had a nice meal at Lion D'Or. The wood burning stoves made it very cosy in the evenings and many a glass of wine was enjoyed whilst watching a dvd!!

"March cycling holiday "
After visiting Acabanes for Christmas with all the family, we enjoyed it so much we decided to return, just as a couple for a cycling holiday. We experienced sunny days, about 15 degrees, which was perfect for cycling. There is a huge network of single track lanes around Acabanes to explore and it's quite common to ride for 2 hours and only see a handful of cars. Thank you and we hope to return again soon.

"December brilliant break!"
We booked Acabanes in early December to get together as an extended family in Europe. The age range in our family is 1year old to 85 year old. We enjoyed a special family time in this very welcoming, spacious barn which has everything to keep all ages amused. We enjoyed cycling and walking on crisp, sunny days, which surprised us at this time of year. We also enjoyed the excellent range of restaurants and markets. We are hoping to return, as many guests seem to, in early Spring, but this time as a couple.

About the Owner
I live in Salisbury, Wiltshire & enjoy cycling, golf and walking. The holiday home was purchased after holidaying for many years in the Dordogne as a family. The farmhouse needed extensive renovation but we thought it was worth all the hard work, due to it's location close to Chateau Vigiers golf course www.vigiers.com. I hope you have a wonderful holiday and are here to arrange everything for you to make your holiday stress free - Tracey Jones
Year property purchased: 2002
Why this location?
We love this part of the Dordogne as it is peaceful and rural with wonderful scenery, but still only 20 minutes to Bergerac and 1 hour from Bordeaux. The area has many colourful markets and night markets, a wide variety of good restaurants and lots of things to do for all ages. Golf is only 5 minutes away- Chateau des Vigiers - which is a pleasure to play. The house is surrounded by a network of quiet lanes which are safe and ideal for walking and cycling. Wild boar, deer and birds of prey are numerous. There are also numerous vineyards offering wine tasting, as well as the world famous St Emillion and Monbazillac. After travelling all over the world, this special area has proved to be very special. We hope you feel the same.
What are the unique benefits of the property?
The farmhouse has many extras to ensure guests have a special holiday. For children the wendy house, sand pit, trampoline and heated pool are a big hit. For older "kids" the table tennis and plasma are a treat. We provide complimentary, unlimited, fast speed broadband. Bath and pool towels are also provided free of charge. We try to provide the best for our holidaymakers, with superking master beds, very good quality mattresses, duvets and Bedeck linen. All master bedrooms have tea/coffee facilities. The kitchen is well stocked and also has a Rangemaster large stove. You will be truly spoilt.
