How to get there
Argostoli airport is 40 kilometres away. Easyjet now flies from London Gatwick to Argostoli and there are also charter flights.
There are ferries to and from Ithaca and Lefkas (Fiscardo has a small ferry port) so it's possible to arrange a stay on all 3 islands.
Car hire not essential.
We can help to arrange transfers from airport to the Apartment.
Fiscardo waterfront is 10 minutes' walk.
Myrtos Beach (featured in Captain Corelli's Mandolin - the film) is a drive of 30 minutes.
There are daily ferries from Fiscardo to Ithaca and Lefkas.
The colourful port of Fiscardo, on the north east tip of the island, boasts a stunning waterfront of tall Venetian houses and looks out to the island of Ithaca. Beaches are shingle but less crowded than in the south and are fringed by olive, pine and cypress to give the coastline a more artistic quality. Fiscardo attracts its own jet set and although coffees are more expensive than in the nearby villages, people and yacht watching from one of the waterfront cafe bars is a very pleasant pastime. Children might prefer the sandy beaches of the south but the north has a softer character, more suited perhaps to grown ups.

"beautiful, peaceful location"
We have just returned from 2 weeks at Katy's upper apartment and both agreed it was one of the best holidays we have ever had. The views from the balcony are fabulous, spent hours just sitting watching all the big, expensive yatchts coming in and out. The apartmentment is spotless with everything you need for self catering. The beds are a little "firm" but quite comfortable. Lovely to lay on the sun beds on the patio area which also has a large umbrella. The only thing we found a bit challenging were the 20 odd steps up to the apartment, the first four being very steep, we were a little breathless when we got to the top, but after all we are both in our 70's. A very pleasant 20 minute walk into the village which is lovely with plenty of retaurants and cafe's. The prices are roughly the same as back home but the food is delicious and we especially liked Roulas and The captain's cabin. Wonderful holiday, would definitely return to Fiscardo but would chose alternative accommodation owing to the number of steps.

"Relax and dream"
A lovely week in one of the prettiest places we have stayed. The apartment details are accurate, it's comfortable and very clean, and the air conditioning is great. This really is in a lovely position, and it's a pleasure to sit on the balcony and watch the boats - take binoculars. Fiskado is a yachting village and at least in September, is full of well behaved, middle aged Brits, so maybe not for anyone looking for hectic night life. That said there are excellent, reasonably priced, restaurants with very friendly staff and plenty of good wines and beer, (and the honey and yoghurt is to die for....) We loved it and have booked to go back next year!
