This is one of the best and most privileged locations on the Med! A few minutes drive east of Almunecar brings you to Playa Galera in the village of Taramay. From the pretty gardens you have private access to the sandy beach! **No road to cross**. No traffic noise.
There is a large well kept swimming pool in the garden, a great balcony (25sqm) for private lounging and eating. The views are spectacular!
Garage parking too. You won't find a 2 bedroom seafront apartment in the area that compares to the location, facilities, standard, and rates of our unique holiday home. Sunbathe, swim and relax or if you prefer a more active holiday try out the beach activities or the Golf at Salobrena 15 mins drive - skiing in Sierra Nevada just an hour away - hiking or mountain biking - Bike Park 5 mins cycle, Sierra de Cazorla 15 minutes drive - Sightseers can visit the lovely white villages, the Alhambra Palace or the Caves of Nerja.
Almunecar: is a holiday resort town with its own Roman aqueduct. The interesting seafront promenade is divided into many sections by the small coves and headlands that are typical of this part of the Costa Tropical. There are many restaurants and beaches but it is much more than this. History buffs will enjoy the Moorish castle, the Roman factory, the Moroccan built tourist office and newly excavated Phoenician ruins. Shoppers won't want to miss the Friday morning flea market where you can find everything from imitation Levis to hand crafted pottery. The municipal market (el mercado) in the centre of town is open every morning except Sunday and there you can find produce, fish, meat, flowers, teas and spices.
The Costa Tropical:
It is not nearly so well known as the neighbouring Costa Del Sol to the west.The Costa Tropical is picturesque and you will find it far easier to get away from the crowds. The mountains run right down to the sea and the coastline is typically a series of coves and promontories. A few minutes drive away is the white village of Salobrena and La Herradura to the west is pretty and unspoilt and located between the two attractive promontories of Punta De La Mona and Cerro Gordo. Nearby, in a protected cove east of Punt De La Mona is the impressive Marina del Este yacht harbour. Water sports and scuba diving are popular in the area, thanks to the variety of sea life and clarity of the water. Would you like to include some excursions? Day trips possible to Nerja, Granada, Ronda, Cordoba, Seville, Gibraltar and more.
Playa Galera was built by a well known Spanish architect and is an impressive sight, it is low-rise with, pergolas, chimneys and turrets of blue, white and terracotta. Very Mediterranean, and very different from the usual plain blocks to be seen on the costas. Once you have been, you will want to return to holiday here again and again just like our other returning guests.
Parents love it because it is safe, secure and private with remote control entry to the grounds. They like the relaxing atmosphere and the touch of exclusivity. Couples like it because of its romantic, peaceful setting on the beach. Everyone loves the nearby restaurants, beach cafes and the little village shop . Almunecar is great for evening walks - shopping, sundowners, restaurants and tapas bars. There is a water park a 5 min drive from Playa Galera and in Almunecar there are discos and clubs for the night owls amongst you.

Important notes on accommodation
The view out to sea from the lounge is spectacular, even from the moment you enter the apartment. The terrace is large and comfortable and great for eating, sunbathing or just sitting and taking in the view. Designed to be shaded in mid summer and to catch the sun during the cooler months it is always comfortable which is helped by the marble floors throughout. The location of the apartment means you can leave the windows and balcony doors open at all times and hear the sea and catch the breezes. Very special. Although situated near to the town the apartment is in a quiet area away from the main throng and directly adjacent to a pretty unspoiled cove. Good quality furnishings, linen and equipment have been provided. The whole apartment is clean modern and bright.

Location Information: The province of Granada is in Andalucia and the town of Almunecar is on the Costa Tropical. It is a traditional Spanish town - a holiday resort by the sea. The apartment at Playa Galera is located 2 miles along the coast from the centre of Almunecar on the Costa Tropical in the village of Taramay. We have the best of both worlds, away from the throng but within easy reach. The apartment is an easy drive from Malaga or Granada Airports. Either one just about an hour away. A must-see is of course the Alhambra in Granada. Our holiday home is east of Malaga and the Costa Del Sol. Just a bit further on from Nerja and before you get to Salobrena passing nearby La Herradura on the way. We provide a friendly meet and greet service to help you settle in quickly. The Costa Tropical boasts a micro climate making it warmer during the winter months and producing an abundance of mangos, papayas, avocados and other exotic fruits.. Golf: The Los Moriscos Golf Course has 9 holes which are combined to create an 18-hole round with a total distance of 5,072 metres. Like the vast majority of golf courses, Los Moriscos lies in spectacularly beautiful countryside: its level grass is dotted with slender palm trees which give an inexplicable sensation of peace and serenity, with the sound of the waves of the Mediterranean washing against shore just a few metres from the start of the course. . The course, designed by Ibergolf and Manuel Piñero, opened in 1974 and is mainly flat. However the large greens, two lakes, palm trees, sugar cane and the abundance of exotic fruit plantations, including papaya and mango, ensure that playing golf here is interesting; and with all these natural hazards, challenging too. An unbelievable setting for a game of golf where you will thoroughly enjoy the contrast provided by the views of the sea and the Sierra Nevada mountain range.

"2 Weeks August 2013. We had a great holiday"
We had a great holiday. Absolutely loved the apartment and the views in particular. The pool was a fantastic size which allowed us to have a good swim in the mornings and with plenty of space to play too. It was never overcrowded even at weekends when the locals arrived. We virtually always rent apartments on holiday (nearly always from Owners Direct) and as a family agreed that the pool and views were the best we’ve had. We took great delight in being the only Brits and Ben had a great time playing football with the Spanish boys. The Parque Mediterraneo was beautiful and we loved the walk to the shops or down to the beach. Almunecar itself was great too, especially when we visited the Tapas bars. Again there are few Brits and as a family we were able and sometimes had to practice our Spanish. The locals were always welcoming and very helpful even with the language barrier. Things that we would recommend would certainly include a visit to the Alhambra in Granada. Stunning views, gardens and architecture and we all had a great day despite the 39 degree temperature. We liked all the restaurants we went to (Antonio’s, Tito Yayo, Iguana locally as well as a couple in Almunecar) but couldn’t say that any stood out as exceptional. However, the Tapas bars in Almunecar were superb with great food, service atmosphere and value for money too. I’d thoroughly recommend the location and apartment to anyone that likes to be away from the Malaga resorts.

"What a beautiful view you have from the balcony. "
JULY 2013. We enjoyed our 3 week stay in your house very much! What a beautiful view you have from the balcony and how nice to have such a short walk to the beach! The children and we as well, enjoyed the swimming pool very much! so thank you for all these nice things, to be used. Your house in really charming and so much space. We used the air condition only during the night when we went to bed. Because as you wrote in your information of the house, the house is cool and also the balcony/terrace was cool enough during siesta time. So yes, everything was perfect, your parking as well. We broke a wine glass and a big lemonade glass. I left €6 for this on the table. We however return 3 children´s glasses for lemonade, which we collected because of eating nutella on our bread. So I hope this okay for you, Thanks you for all, we will recommend your house to our friends and colleagues in the Netherelands!!

"Excellent apartment with a stunning view"
Dear Bobby, Thank you so much for letting us rent your apartment during the past two weeks. We just wanted to let you know that we had a fantastic time and we were all very comfortable. The apartment, garden, pool, beach and local area are every bit (and more) as perfect as the descriptions on your website. In fact, no photo can ever do justice to the special feeling of sitting on that balcony looking across the gardens down to the sea with the swallows calling to each other and swooping around the building. You are so lucky to own a property in that block and we really do hope to be able to visit again in the not-too-distant future - maybe at a different time of year, such as Spring/early summer or Autumn, so that we can do more walking and exploring in the Costa Tropical area. Thank you also for all your helpful advice before we went. Your prompt replies to our email questions about the Alhambra meant that we were able to pre-book everything so that our visit to the amazing palace and gardens went very smoothly. Thanks also to Carol from Teamworks who met us ‘perfect to plan’ and gave us plenty of helpful advice on the several occasions that we saw her. "The perfect Holiday Getaway!"
Dear Bobby, I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. Everything was perfect, from the apartment which had all the commodities a family with small chidren can ask for, to the beautiful views and the lovely surroundings. Our time in Almunecar was perfect and it quickly became our no. 1 spot in Spain! nothing compares to the peace and beauty of Playa Gallera :) Needless to say, we enjoyed every single day of our stay at the apartment and plan to visit again in the future! I would also like to say thank you to Roy, as he was very kind and helpful to us... especially when he came to the rescue on our arrival as we were a bit lost! the sat nav had taken us the opposite direction and we kept missing the famous Velilla sign!
