Really enjoyed our first visit to Oz, chalet is in a perfect position to enjoy the local bars and restaurants.....and of course access to the ski lifts for both adults and children into ski school. We have stayed in Alpe D'Huez last couple of years and we actually found it was just as easy to access the whole region from Oz via Poutran and Alpette lifts. Chalet was great, as first timers to Owners Direct Ski you don't quite know what to expect but it ticked all the boxes and more. Some really nice touches which all the families appreciated (TV for the children, Sound Bar for the adults, heated floors for everyone!) The whole process was very smooth, aided by Taxi D'Oz for the transfer and Monts et Merveilles who provided the food and wrapped up the whole 'catered chalet' experience. It was great, already booked for next year! Good people all round and that is what it is all about for a fabulous holiday.

There was 12 in our party, 3 families each of 4. We had a great week. From our first enquiry to our departure we were assisted by Mike and given some great advice and suggestions. The chalet was excellent and lived up to it's billing. We were there to ski and we had some excellent weather (lots of sun) and enough skiing for all abilities. The village of Oz is small, friendly with enough facilities for all. It was not too busy with teenagers or rowdy parties. On arrival by taxi transfer (Taxi D'Oz) - highly recommended, we were met by Griet and shown around. The facilities in the chalet were first class, roaring log fire, heated floors along with a terrific heating system. The owners have really thought about equipping the chalet too and we were able to enjoy English TV, a sound system, games, DVDs etc which made Chalet Marmotte a real home from home. On departure we handed over to Griet and after 10 inches of snow in 8 hours Taxi D'Oz got us back to Grenoble to ensure we made our flight on time. Thank you Mike and the people of Oz for making Christmas 2014 such a good one. We loved it and would highly recommend it.

"Amazing Chalet "
Amazing Chalet in a beautiful Village. Best Skiing Holiday ever.
Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with teenagers and families with young children
Thank you, thank you thank you and more thank you's. We have just had the most incredible long ski weekend ever. We LOVE the wonderful Chalet Marmotte. You can only imagine our aches and pains after a 3am start and a hideous Luton rush to catch the flight, only to be greeted by your superb Chalet and THAT sun drenched terrace. It was a moment to cherish! We popped open the wine and on the terrace we sat, in disbelief that there were skiers whizzing past us and that was where our first track was to be made the following day, just yards from the chalet door. I have skied and snowboarded every year since I was 11 and I have NEVER heard of Oz. Now we've been there, we can't believe nobody has heard of it and I have no urge to go anywhere else again! I prefer it to Whistler, Zermatt, Courchevel, St Anton, Morzine - the lot. Everyone agreed what a superb Resort to ski and moreover what an absolutely PEACHY spot your Chalet is in. Thank you again for EVERYTHING.
About the Owner
We bought this chalet in 2010 together with my brother and his family. We live in the UK (Beaconsfield in Bucks and my brother and his family live in Poole, Dorset). We're all in our late 30's / early 40's and have 6 kids between us, ranging from 12 to 2 years old. We all enjoy the great outdoors, with skiing / boarding ability in the group ranging from the highly accomplished off-pisters to beginners. We're also all battling to continue to enjoy some nightlife, hence enjoying skiing holidays and the apres ski and why we bought a chalet.
Year property purchased:
Why this location?
We chose Oz to buy a chalet, as it's an easily accessible resort that's small enough to recognise people you meet and make friends easily. It's got skiing for pro's and beginners and is well equipped for the kids to be looked after through the ski school and creche. They also meet other kids their age through the activities run by the tourist office. It's got good bars and restaurants, both on the mountain and in the village centre, with a few pizzeria's, if you can't be bothered to cook and bakeries for fresh bread and pastries in the morning. The nightlife is lively, but more geared to adults than a teenage crowd. We've now holidayed in both summer and winter here and continue to be surprised and impressed by everything the resort and area have to offer.
What are the unique benefits of the property?
With the chalet being en-piste, it couldn't be easier to get out and on the slopes in the morning and back at night. It's also very close to the village centre, but with all the benefits of being away from the hustle and bustle, so quiet at night. Since buying the chalet we've updated many things, including lounge and dining furniture, and have installed some new mod cons, such as the washer dryer and the 40" flat screen TV. We've also installed a new french window that gives fantastic views over the valley and have enlarged the balcony, so you can walk straight off the piste onto the balcony and get someone in the kitchen to hand you a beer!
